Why Capline ?
– Capline animation: www.capwell.no/products
– Enclosed cost effective light well intervention technology
– Less complex and more efficient than conventional Wireline Operation
– Less equipment and requirement for deck space
– Mechanical Wireline Operation and Fiber optical logging in same operation
– Fiber optical logging with use of DTS/DAS
– No dynamic well barriers - No need for grease injection

Capline Fibre Optical System
• Real-time optical measurements is an
integrated part of the Capline system

• Capline will come with :

– Optical Rotary Joint

– Real Time Cable Head Tension
– Optical P&T sensor
– Distributed temperature sensing along
the length of the well (DTS)
– Distributed fibre optic acoustic sensing technology

Well Barriers
• The well is completely capped and
enclosed
• Capline is the only intervention method
without any dynamic seals
• Requires no external power to maintain
well integrity

Components above surface tree:

• Wireline BOP
• Wireline lubricator
• Capline unit

CapWell AS © 2014
Contingency operations
• Close BOP over rope (wireline ram)
• Cut rope in BOP (shear/seal ram)
• Cut rope with drop cutter
• Fish rope
• Fish tool string

All these operations have been successfully tested.

CapWell AS © 2014
Rig-up
The same as for wireline, for instance:
• Primary – DHSV
• Secondary – Surface tree

CapWell AS © 2014
Secondary Well Barrier
The same as for wireline.

A wireline shear/seal ram will typically be

used as the safety head, according to NORSOK
D-002 and D-010.

A double-valve kill inlet connection will be

included in the rig-up.
