LESSON PLAN – GRADE 9 HEALTH 1st QUARTER

I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard
Demonstrates understanding of the principles in protecting the environment for
community wellness.
Performance Standard
Consistently demonstrates healthful practices to protect the environment for
community wellness.
B. Specific Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
a. Identify the nature of environmental issues. (H9CE-lb-d-11)
b. Analyze the effects of environmental issues to the community. (H9CE-lb-d-12)
c. Create a plan to help in community health.

II. SUBJECT MATTER


TOPIC : Environmental Issues
Reference: GRADE 9 HEALTH 1st Quarter MODULE 3
Values: Makatao, Makakalikasan, Makabansa
Materials: Laptop, TV or any BIG screen
III. PROCEDURE
a. Preparatory/Routine Activities
1. Enforce social distancing and always wearing of mask during the class
2. Prayer
3. Greeting the Class
4. Checking the attendance
b. Review (Pre-reading)
Collect Reflection Paper and ask few learners to share their experiences in going to
their barangay hall.
c. Motivation
Answer the WILD CARDS ACTIVITY
d. Lesson Proper (Reading)
1. The teacher will show a video of environmental issues.
2. The learners will share how they feel and how they think they could help.
3. The teacher will discuss about the types of environmental issues.
IV. EVALUATION
The learners will answer an activity titled DESTRUCTION vs. RESTORATION by partner.
V. ASSIGNMENT (modular)
Answer what I have learned: “RANK”. Put it on a whole sheet of paper and choose 3
environmental issue present in your community. Rank them in order with 1 as the most
pressing concern. Answer the process questions.
1. Defend your ranking by assessing your community according to the status of the
environment, people’s attitude and lifestyle, and barangay officers’ actions.
2. How do these environmental issues affect you and your neighbors’ lives in your
community?
3. As a responsible individuals, what can you and your family do to minimize or if not solve
the problem?
