GENERAL INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS

NEED FOR PRACTICALS

Many students have studied one science or the other in the secondary schools and
performed practicals in its examination, as the practicals are essential for full
comprehension of science. Similarly study of Library and Information science
which is also a science, is not complete without practical work. Practicals not only
help the student to understand different concepts clearly, but also make his/her
experience more concrete and thereby enabling him/her to learn faster and acquire
practical skills.

HOW TO DO THE PRACTICALS

Relevant information required for performing practicals in the elements of

reprography has been carefully documented in this manual. Each Practical to be
carried out has been divided into five major parts: Title, Objective, Introduction,
Procedure and Conclusion. The Practicals have been so designed that students can
perform them with minimal supervision. The practicals have been grouped
according to the Modules of the learning material for the sake of convenience.

All practicals are compulsory. The steps for performing the practicals are given
under “Procedure”. Observation tables or blank spaces have been provided to
allow the student to record his/her answers, comments and observations. Students
are advised to read all instructions carefully before performing practical work.

The maximum marks for this practical is 20.
