E. Adjustment principle

NOTE

The STEADY Control assembly [703A94-3200-00] or [703A94-3200-01] is used

with the adaptation kit for EC120 [C180G4002101].

1. There are two types of adjustment parameters for the cabin antivibrators:

a. Addition or removal of weight on the antivibrators (washers) (Figure 5 and Figure 6).

b. Movement of the Antivibrator weight along the blade (Figure 7).

2. The adjustment must provide vibrational comfort for the passengers and crew. The system uses the vibration
measurements supplied by the accelerometers and the rotor azimuth sync sensor (ROTOR TOP) as the only
sources of information.

3. The overall architecture of the system comprises:

a. A set of sensors (accelerometers and rotor azimuth sync sensor (ROTOR TOP)).

b. An acquisition unit (Figure 1)

c. A control unit (Figure 2).

d. A PC (ground station) with the STEADY Control - ABSORBER software for calculation of the cabin vibration
absorber adjustment parameters.

F. Job Set-up

BEFORE YOU DO ANY ADJUSTMENT, MAKE SURE THAT THE TIGHTENING
TORQUE VALUES OF THE WEIGHT AND BLADE ATTACHMENT NUTS ARE
CORRECT:

- ANTIVIBRATORS WITH MOVABLE WEIGHTS (Figure 7):

–   1,4 daN.m IN THE Y AXIS

–   1,5 daN.m IN THE Z AXIS

- ANTIVIBRATORS WITH WASHERS (Figure 5 and Figure 6):

–   1,7 - 2 daN.m IN THE Y AXIS

–   1,7 - 2 daN.m IN THE Z AXIS

1. Installation of the Equipment

– Remove carpets, covering panels and other equipment items where necessary.

NOTE:

If the accelerometers are secured by bonding process (20-10-00, 3-15), before

bonding, use CM 789 adhesive aluminium tape (20-10-00, 3-15) to protect the
surfaces where the accelerometers will be bonded.
If the upper and RH side backing plates as well as the blade retaining plates have
a taphole, then the accelerometers can be secured by means of bolts.
The accelerometers must be correctly positioned to ensure correct operation of
the system.

a. Pilot's seat:

1. Install accelerometer Item N°7 behind the Pilot's seat at the RH (outer) end of the rail.

2. Make sure that the accelerometer is correctly secured.

3. Remove the lower center fairing (53-70-00, 4-1).

b. Pilot's side:

1. According to the case, erase the red paint marks on the blades of the movable-weight type antivibrator.

2. Cut and remove the lockwire (12) from the clamping plate attachment screws (20-10-00, 3-1) (Figure 5).

3. Check the tightening torque of the blade clamping plate attachment screws (Figure 5).

4. Depending on the case, bond or secure accelerometer N° 4 (1) by means of a bolt (5) at the top or in the
centre of the flapping weight. (Figure 3).

5. Depending on the case, bond or secure accelerometer N°3 (2) by means of a bolt (5) in the center of the
clamping plate (Figure 3).

6. Make sure that the accelerometers are correctly bonded or secured.

c. Copilot's side:

4. Depending on the case, bond or secure accelerometer N°2 (4) by means of a bolt (5) on the top and in the
center of the flapping weight (Figure 3).

5. Depending on the case, bond or secure accelerometer N°1 (3) by means of a bolt (5) in the center of the
clamping plate (Figure 3).

6. Make sure that the accelerometers are correctly bonded or secured.

d. Routing of the wiring under the bottom structure (Figure 2):

1. Route the wiring along the landing gear and into the cabin, through the Pilot's collective pitch lever hole.

2. Secure the wiring with plastic ties and/or adhesive tape.

3. Prevent any interference with moving parts.

4. Make sure that the routing of the wiring is correct.

5. Reinstall the lower center fairing.

e. Cabin (Figure 4):

1. Remove the access plates located on the left of the console and on the floor on the copilot's side.

3. Depending on the case, bond or secure accelerometer N°6 (1) by means of a bolt (5) on the RH side and in
the center of the weight.

4. Install metal support (3) on the first screw of the floor access plate.

5. Bond accelerometer N°5 (2) on metal support (3) (CM 6015 adhesive).

6. Make sure that the accelerometers are correctly bonded.
