1.

Insects have the weight and structure of their feet in combination with the surface
tension of water allow some insects to walk on water

2. Evaporation is a type of vaporization that occurs on the surface of a liquid as it

changes into the gas phase. Evaporation rates are higher at higher temperatures
because as temperature increases, the amount of energy necessary for
evaporation decreases.

3. The difference between evaporation and condensation is that Condensation is

the change from a vapor to a condensed state, evaporation is the change of a
liquid to a gas.

Evaporation condensation

4. Vapour pressure is a measure of the tendency of a material to change into the

gaseous or vapour state, and it increases with temperature Vapour pressure is a
measure of the tendency of a material to change into the gaseous or vapour
state, and it increases with temperature

5. As altitude increases, the amount of gas molecules in the air decreases—the air
becomes less dense than air nearer to sea level. ... The human body reacts to
high altitudes. Decreased air pressure means that less oxygen is available for
breathing.
6. The difference between vapor pressure and temperature is that, the vapor
pressure of a liquid varies with its temperature, as the following graph shows for
water. The line on the graph shows the boiling temperature for water. As the
temperature of a liquid or solid increases its vapor pressure also increases.

7. The boiling point is the temperature at which a liquid boils and turns to vapor, It
depends on where you're doing the boiling. In fact, water will boil at about 202
degrees in Denver, due to the lower air pressure at such high elevations.

8. To summarize, evaporation is slower, occurs only from the surface of the liquid,
does not produce bubbles, and leads to cooling. Boiling is faster, can occur
throughout the liquid, produces lots of bubbles, and does not result in cooling.

9. Once the temperature in the vessel reaches the boiling point of water, excess
heat causes the water to vaporize into steam. In a sealed pressure cooker,
however, the boiling point of water increases with increasing pressure. As the
temperature increases, so does the pressure, resulting in superheated water.

10. Physical properties can be broken down into extensive and intensive properties.
So the boiling point is an intensive property. Likewise, melting point is also an
intensive property.
