What is Community Development Programme?
Community development is a process where community members are
supported by agencies to identify and take collective action on issues
which are important to them. Community development empowers
community members and creates stronger and more connected
communities.
 The Community Development Programme has been the
biggest rural construction scheme undertaken by the Govt. of
free India.
 It was launched on 2nd October 1952 on the auspicious
occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.
 It was an instrument of transformation of socio-economic life
of village population.
Vairamani Foundation
Vairamani is a Lucknow-based Non Government Organization,
that looks after the welfare of people and helps them
in the fields of Healthcare, Medical and Education,
providing help to those in need, in whatever way
possible and thus helping countless peoples, who are
deprived of basic amenities. Vairamani believes in
social welfare of animals too, and hence we take
steps to ensure welfare of stray animals and animals in need.
Vairamani Foundation was established to serve the people who were affected
by covid-19 pandemic.
Our Mentors during the whole CDP
A special thanks to our project Managers Mr. Aryan Agnihotri Sir
and Mr. Vansh Patel Sir for guiding our path during this project.
Despite the fact that all the volunteers were from different
states, they arranged regular meeting to give us our tasks. Here
is an image from online meets:
Our main objectives during CDP:
 To identify the causes of issues faced by people in our
surroundings.
 Spreading the awareness about the same through blogs,
videos, posters etc.
 Feeding the stray animals.
 Planting trees on our terrace or near our home.
Here’s everything about my contribution in
the Community Development Project:
• During the internship phase with Vairamani Foundation, I chose to work
as Content Writer .
• I wrote my blog on a topic “Spreading awareness to protect River Yamuna
from dying”.
• It was then posted on the official website of Vairamani by volunteers in
Social Media Management community.
• I planted some saplings on my terrace and learnt a lot new things about
gardening.
• I gave food to stray dogs, cows and kept some grains for sparrows and
pigeons.
