A. General regulations
A.1. Purpose of the test

• Assess students' current English level according to CEFR standards.


• Help students understand which skills they are weak in, and which skills need to be
improved.
• After taking the test, the students will know which course is suitable for their level,
as well as specific routes through which they will easily conquer their goals for their
job, for studying abroad, etc.
• The accuracy of the teacher's level assessment will also be improved.

A.2. Teaching platform

The test will be conducted via Google Meet. Examiners will receive an account as well as
a personal Google Meet link to use during work at the center. (in the Examiner Package)
Note: each Examiner is provided with only 1 fixed link to conduct the test for the students.

A.3. Background
The teacher will use the background provided by SS (example below)

A.4. Outfit
• Examiners’ outfit must be polite, can be a shirt or T-shirt with a collar.
• Examiners are not allowed to wear sleeveless T-shirts in class.

A.5. Pre-test procedure


• Examiners need to make sure they are present during the working time frame
previously registered with the center.
• Check technical operations on teaching software to promptly report to relevant
departments if problems occur. (share screen, record...)
• Check teaching equipment and materials such as camera, mic, script test (file
booklet), slide show, ...
• Check if the class has been recorded

A.5.1. Teaching space:


- Must have a stable Internet connection.
- Examiners need to make sure the space is well-lit, tidy, and the camera is always on.
- Do not teach at cafes or crowded places.

A.5.2. Materials:
- Testing materials is included in the EXAMINER PACKAGE
- Instructions for extracting files:
There are 3 ways to unzip the file as follows:
1) Right-click on the folder to be extracted, select Extract files, and then select the location
to place the extracted file.
2) Right-click on the folder to be extracted and select Extract here so that the file after
decompression will be at the current location of the compressed folder.
3) Right-click on the folder to be extracted, select Extract files to + folder name to create a
new folder, and at the same time, the extracted files will be in this new folder.

A.7. Post-test procedure

- Submit the reports on the Booking sheet (in section D)

- Rename the record as follow: ddmmyy-Student’s ID-Student’s name

- Discuss with the Counsultant about the class results in some cases when you’re contacted.

B. Classes and students’ information
Examiner wil get the classes and students’ information from the Booking sheet which will
be updated MONTHLY.

Step 1: Access sheet EC-ĐP_October 2022: Xử lý công việc

Step 2: Find the sheet with your name and shift


For example: Examiner Mr. A (M&A)
M: morning (9AM-12PM)
A: afternoon (2PM-5PM)
E: evening (6PM-9PM)
1 Examiner can register for one, two or even all three shifts.

Step 3: Check the information items that need attention before going to class:

Column A: Check the Examiner's Google Meet link information (each Examiner will have
a separate link), Type Class (ESL, BSE or IELTS) and The students type (Kids or Teens
or Adults)
Column D: Date of the test class

Column F: Student ID
Column G: Student's name
Column L: Is the test class ESL, BSE or IELTS
Column N: The time the class will take place
Column O: Detailed information about the student (age, gender, personality, interests,
strengths/weakness depending on the student...)

If the above information has not been fully updated on the sheet, the Examiner should
immediately contact the Class Coordinator via Zalo group chat to receive timely support
before the test class takes place.

C. Class valuation
This section is for the Examiner to assess the student's English ability demonstrated in the
classroom. Therefore, the teacher will make detailed comments based on the students'
results during the test as follows:
C.1. Errors
C.1.1. Grammar
Grammar mistakes students made WHILE TAKING THE TEST and/or examples on what
the students should do to improve their answers.
Ex:
She don’t have it. -> She doesn’t have it.
I eating dinner -> I ate dinner.
C.1.2. Vocabulary
Vocabulary mistakes students made WHILE TAKING THE TEST and/or examples on
what students should do to upgrade their vocabulary, etc.
Ex: The student has difficulty searching for the words he wants to use, such as “horror
movies”, “comedy”.

C.1.3. Pronunciation
Pronunciation mistakes students made WHILE TAKING THE TEST, and/or examples of
how students should improve their pronunciation.
Ex: She mispronounces the words “animated”, “motion”, “giant”
C.2. General comment
Give out general feedback on what the student can and can’t do based on their performance
during the test.
Ex: Student can link groups of words with simple connectors like "and, "but" and
"because". Can make herself understood in very short utterances, even though pauses, false
starts and reformulation are very evident. She can use some simple structures correctly,
but still systematically makes basic mistakes which leads to the interruption in her fluency.
C.3. Suggestion for improvement

The Examiner will suggest to the students on how to improve their skills and in which areas
students should focus on more and supporting materials if any.
For example: Students should expand their vocabulary by watching many movies or
listening to music in English, through which students can also improve their
pronunciation...

D. Report
Step 1: Choose file Examiner Report (in the Examiner Package).

Step 2: Choose the suitable report form for the student based on their age and level

Step 3: Conduct the evaluaion report by filling in the following information. (details are
included in the Training video and sections C).

Step 4: Rename the report and save file:
Rename the report as follow:
Student’s ID – Student’s name - Speaking Assessment - SS ENGLISH ACADEMY

Note: When save file, Examiners should not select Save but select Save As instead to create
a new file and keep the original sample report.

Step 5: Upload the report on Drive

- Upload the report.

Step 6: Upload the report link on the Booking sheet

Regarding the comments in the reports. Since the reports will be handed out to our students
and parents, the language chosen should be academic and professional. Please avoid too
much verbal or casual words, and remember to give suggestions on their study process,
how they can improve, rather than their requests.
