Classes Specialized Instruction School Year 2011-2012 Instructors: Extensions

Donna Compton Math Extensions Heather Mattson/Tawny Christensen English III/American History Clint Nicholes/Heather Mattson Biology/World History Clint Nicholes Physical Science I. Course Description: These extension classes are designed to provide support for students who are on an IEP (Individual Education Plan) with their specified core class(es). Each teacher will be reviewing, previewing, and practicing the skills and strategies from the core classes. The teachers will differentiate instruction to fit the needs of the student(s). The teachers will assist and aid the students in order for them to study and to be well prepared for class assignments and common assessments for the core classes. II. Grading Procedures: Students will be graded on assigned daily points for being prepared by bringing materials to class and their participation and efforts put forth each day. III. Materials: Materials that need to be brought to class on a daily basis include: pencil/pen, planner, books and a binder with paper. There may be additional materials more specific to each extension. Classroom Rules: Be on time Be prepared Respect everyone No food of drink No IPods or cell phones LCSD#2 agrees to ensure equitable access and equitable participation in all district courses/classes.
