Dear Sir/Ma’am

My full name is Truong Tan Phat. I was born in 2002 in Ben Tre, Vietnam. I
currently reside in Viet Nam and I am writing this letter to clarify my
intentions to study in Australia.
I used to be a student at Huynh Man Dat high school for gifted from 2017 to
2020. After my graduation, I went to the university and studied
biotechnology according to my family plan. However, as we know, Covid19-
pandemic appeared, and it changed my education plan. I had to study
online all the time, and I got no chance to improve my communication skills
or my relationships with my new friends. On the other hand, during the
outbreak of the Covid 19 pandemic, I realized how important is technology
to the evolution of modern society. People started to use online platforms
as alternatives to face-to-face meetings. Technology can be applied to any
aspect of our daily life, from simple activities such as ordering food, to our
education, or our career. As a result, I decided to select Information
Technology as my main major at WSU. Not to mention it is my dream and
my passion, in my home all the things that are related to tech and
electronics are handled by me, so since I was a child, I wanted to be a
programmer so that I can come into contact with technology every day.
Information Technology is also a promising field, where I can earn enough
money for my own living, and for my family. As my father, sadly, passed
away last year, I have to try my best to help my mother and my younger
siblings.
After that incident, I chose to study in Australia for several reasons. First,
Australia is one of the best education systems globally, so I can find a job
very easily when I back to Vietnam. Second, its tuition fee and living cost
are acceptable for my condition. Last but not least, I have an aunt and
uncle living in Australia. They can support me during my first time studying
in there. Also, Australia is known as a safe country with a stable political
situation, and they have strong support for international students. After
researching for information, I found that WSU has the course that I am
looking for. Another reason I choose the course at Western Sydney
University is supported by world-class academics.
Today, to implement technology, practicing professionals need to not only
have knowledge and skills in information and communications technology,
but they also need to understand the context in which computer technology
can best be selected, applied, and implemented that was the reason I have
chosen the Diploma in Information and Communications Technology is the
fact that t want to learn how to plan, develop and integrate applications and
information systems into a global business environment. The program helps
me learn step by step to achieve my degree. There are similar programs
available in Vietnam, however, I think it's better to study in Australia
because It’s an IT pioneer and some of the world’s leading information
technology companies are headquartered in Sydney, such as IBM,
Microsoft, CSC, Sun and Oracle. One of my favorite things to do is to
discover and explore new cultures. And, Australia is the ideal place to fulfill
my communication skills and it will be a useful experience for my future
career.
My mother will support my study in Australia. She already has a savings
account to help my education. After finishing the course with the knowledge
provided by the school, I want to return to my hometown to work and
reunite with my family, shoulder the breadwinner, and take care of my
mother and siblings. But before that, I am planning to work in Australia for a
short duration of time to have more experience in my major.
I am fully confident that I will meet all the requirements that WSU needs in
their students, and I will satisfy your pretension for me. I hereby certify that
the information above, which has been supplied in support of my student
visa application to assist me to demonstrate that I satisfied The Australian
Immigration’s GS and GTE compliance requirements, which have been
completed in my own words and is a true and correct account. I understand
that if any incorrect, misleading, or non-genuine information is found in this
SOP, my student visa application will be refused.
