Pin to your fabric and cut out. Repeat for the second Hat Assembly
inner ear. Please note: There is a round of free loops (from
BLO/FLO rows) on the inside and on the outside.
Hat parts will be sewn to these free loops.

With seam at the back, mark centered on the front

of the hat (mark first and last stitch):
Baby - 10 stitches wide
Toddler - 12 stitches wide
Child - 14 stitches wide

Pin to the crocheted ear and use thread and needle

to sew on using a blanket stitch or other stitch you
are comfortable with. I’ve used some #2 weight
yarn I had on hand, but you can also take some #4
weight yarn and split it in half. You are less likely
to tear the felt while you are sewing if you use a
sharp needle and thinner yarn.

Turn the hat wrong side out. Sew ear flaps and ears
to the round of free loops, being sure to leave the
marked area at the front of the hat free.

Repeat for the second ear. This step is optional. If

you choose not to add felt, you may want to stitch
through the ear in a few places to be sure it remains
flat and bunny-ear-like.

The ear flaps and Bunny ears will take up all of the

the ears, overlap the edge of the ear flap and the ear

at the back.

Pom-Pom
The Pom on Benjamin Bunny’s hat is quite a messy
thing. I couldn’t quite work out how to make a pom
this messy and it still behave as a pom. So I just
made a large pom and didn’t try too hard to make it
neat. Sadly, it looks hardly different than my usual
pom-poms. Maybe not a great skill of mine.

I chose this purple color because I thought it looked

better with the apple green I used than red would. I
liked how it turned out. Can’t wait to see yours!
