Plush booties

You will need:

 Yarn Yarn Art Jeans for deer’s antlers (and hook size 2,25 mm)
 Crochet hook (I use size 3,5 mm or 4 mm, 3 mm for unicorn’s and giraffe’s horn)
 Plush yarn Himalaya Dolphin baby or Yarnart Dolce of three colors
 Hook (I use hook size 3,5 mm or 4 mm, and hook size 3 mm for horns)
 Black sewing thread for embroidery of eyes and nostrils (you can use mouline
threads)
 Needle, scissors, thread for sewing pieces
 Lighter, markers
 Important:
Booties are obtained from 8 to 13 cm. The size of booties depends on the density of
crocheting and on the size of the hook, as well as on the number of chains. I do not
recommend picking up less than 10 or more than 18 chains!
I got booties on a leg up to 11 cm. (when using hook 3.5 mm and ch16).
For larger booties, I have another pattern.

Abbreviations:
MR – magic ring
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
sl st – slip stitch
inc – increase
dec – decrease
BLO – back loops only
sc9tog – crochet 9 sc together (decrease)
 Begin crocheting from the sole:

1. ch16. Start in the second chain from the hook: 14 sc,
4 sc in the last chain. Continue on the other side of
the chain: 13 sc (hide the yarn tail while
crocheting), inc in the first chain (33)
2. inc, 13 sc, 4 inc, 13 sc, 2 inc (40)
3. Sc, inc, 13 sc, (sc, inc)*4, 13 sc, (sc, inc)*2, sl st (47)
Cut the yarn. The sole is ready.
 Change color and crochet through back loops only:

Mark the middle of the toe (15-16 stitches)
4. BLO sc to the marker in gray color, 15 sc in white
color (crochet the gray thread into the stitches),
sc to end of row in gray color.
5-6. Repeat round 4 through both loops.
Cut the yarn. Singe the end of thread using a lighter
and weave in.
 Crochet the front side of the booties (muzzle):

Fold the booties in half twice. Find the center and mark it with pins from both sides.
Crochet this part from one marker to another. I have 26 sc. IMPORTANT: you can have
another number of stitches. Crochet this part of the booties alternating sc and dec.

7. (sc, dec)*8, 2 sc (18)

8. ch1, turn, crochet dec to the end of row from the wrong side (9 dec) – you can have
another number of decreases.
9. ch1, sc9tog

The front side of the booties

is ready.
 Move to the top:
10-16. Crochet in a spiral with sc (7 rounds) (27)

Crochet the sole with slip stitches through the front loops only.

Without edging: With edging:

Change color
5-8. 5 sc (5) fasten off.
Stuff the upper part slightly.

Crochet in rows:
1. ch6, from the second chain on the hook: 5 sc
2. Ch1, 5sc (5)
3. Ch1, dec, sc, dec (3)
4. Ch1, 3 sc (3)
5. Ch1, sc3tog.
6. 6. Ch1, crochet the ear around with sc – 3sc on the one side, inc in the top, 4sc on
the other side, hide the yarn tail while crocheting. Fasten off. Fold the ear in half
and sew to the booties.

Ties (2 pieces)
ch60-65. Singe the thread ends using a lighter.
 Assembly:
First sew on the horns and ears. Then attach the ties as per the photo. Pass the chain
through the loops between rounds 4 and 5 from the sole. Tie it on the back with a bow.
Embroider the eyes and nostrils with a mouline or any similar thread.

For deer booties and penguin booties, the base is crocheted in the same way.
For the muzzle (2 pcs.):
Crochet with the main color:
1. Ch3, from the second chain on the hook: 2 sc
2. ch1, inc, sc
Cut the ends of the thread and seign with a lighter. Then sew these pieces to the booties
as shown in the photo (where there was an increase, sew to the top to the main color)

Nose:
With complementary color.
6 sc in MR. Join in a ring, fasten off and sew it to the muzzle.
For penguin booties, that's it. Embroider eyes and booties are ready.
 Ears:
Begin crocheting with the main color.
1. 5 sc in MR
2. 5 inc:
1st and 2nd increase with the main color, 3rd inc in white,
4th inc (1 sc in white, 1 sc with the main color), 5th inc with
the main color(10)
3. 4 sc with the main color, 3 sc in white, 3 sc with the main
color (10)
4. 4 sc with the main color, 3 sc in white, 1 sc with the main
color. Cut the white yarn and seign with a lighter.
5. Fold the ear in half and crochet 5 sc through both sides.
6. Fold in half again and crochet 2 sc.

Horns:
Crochet with yarn YarnArt Jeans 2 parts,
Stuff and sew them together.
1. 6 sc in MR 1. 5 sc in MR
2-5. 6 sc 2-3. 5 sc

Embroider eyes, sew on all the pieces and attach the strands!
