DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

Intake Air Distribution and Filtering The air intake system:
The air intake system consists of the following: • cleans intake air with an ACL element.
• Intake air resonator • measures airflow with a MAF sensor. For
additional information, refer to Section 303-14.
• Air cleaner (ACL)
• ACL element
• Mass air flow (MAF) sensor
• Air cleaner outlet pipe

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

Intake Air Resonator

Removal and Installation

1. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the vent tubes

from the outlet pipe.
• To install, tighten to 4 Nm (35 lb-in).

2. Remove the 2 bolts and detach the resonator

from the grommets.
• Remove the air intake resonator and outlet
pipe.
3. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
• To install, tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).
