Lesson Title Operations of Polynomials
Content Area Algebra II

Content Standards A.APR.1 Add, subtract, and multiply polynomials; understand that polynomials
form a system analogous to the integers in that they are closed under these
operations
Technology Standards Provide the standard identifier (e.g., 2b) and descriptive text for each standard
used from the ISTE Standards for Students.

Universal Design This lesson activity allow each and every student to engage in the lesson and
Rationale get involved. There are many students who don’t participate in class or
activities in fear of being wrong or just shy in general. There are a lot of SRTs
that allow anonymous responses from students. Students can also collaborate
with each other in some SRTs and get feedback from each other, which some
students prefer.

Lesson Idea - Prior Students will take part in exploring how to use the operations of polynomials.
They will be given vocabulary and then continue to explore. The SRAT will be
an assessment to get feedback of student understanding. N
SRAT Purpose Summative assessment of content knowledge
Question Types Multiple Choice, True/False
Lesson Idea - During The students will learn about the operations of polynomials and then use the
Kahoot as a summative assessment to get feedback for themselves and for
the teacher to see how the next day should look like. The teacher will be
explaining common misconceptions throughout the SRT and provide live
feedback. Any mobile device (computer, laptop, phone, tablet) is needed. The
activity should last ten minutes.
Lesson Idea - After The lesson will wrap up with final feedback being given and the teacher
explaining the most important common mistakes that were made.
Data Plan The data will be used for students to see how they have taken in the material
of the topic. This is a summative assessment so the data is collected for the
teacher. There’s no spreadsheet for it or physical copy of the data. It can be
used to allow students to monitor their individual progress and will discuss
anonymous data with the whole class. The teacher will also use this to
differentiate instruction for students.

Personal Learning I am trying to use this one SRT for multiple purposes. I feel as though this can
Goals be used in many different ways all at once and at different times. I am also
using this to gain feedback in a way I have not done before. I hope to learn
that this is a good way to engage students to truly get feedback and that
students can get incentive to learn the topic and do better.
Design Reflection I think the activity can impact student learning because it is a way to gain
students’ attention and allow them to engage in the lesson. If I were to use this
as an introductory activity, I would extend the lesson by teaching after the
initial activity and allowing them to try again to get a better to score to see if
they have furthered their understanding. This can all be organized into a
Nearpod lesson.
