Now that you have a clear knowledge of the lesson find out how you can apply the basic concepts
of information and communication technology in real-life devices. Explore your devices (cellphone,
tablet, computer, or laptop, whichever is available) and follow the application guide below. Aside
from accomplishing the task, create a presentation in PPT featuring your work.

Application Guide

1. Identify one hardware available in your area. Take a photo of the hardware and make a mini-
instruction on how to operate it.

1. Find the power button and turn it on.
(The power button is usually marked
with the universal symbol for “power
on”, a circle with a line going halfway
through it.

2. Wait for the laptop to boot up.


3. Use the laptop’s pointing device.
(On most computers, this is a flat,
touch-sensitive area called a
touchpad which will allow you to use
finger as your mouse. Simply slide one
finger on the touchpad area to move
the cursor.
4. Use the touchpad’s left click button as
your primary mouse button.
5. Use the touchpad’s right click button as
the secondary mouse button.

2. Identify one software available on your device. Take a screenshot of the software and make a mini-
instruction on how to operate it on your device.

When you open PowerPoint, you will see


some built-in themes and templates. A
theme is slide design that contains

like shadows, reflections, and more
1. On the File tab of the ribbon, select
New, and then choose a theme
2. Click “create”, or pick a color
variation and then click “create”.
3. Insert a new slide.
4. On the Home tab, click the button
half of New Slide, and pick a slide
layout.
5. Save your presentation.
6. On the file tab, choose “save”.
7. Pick or browse to a folder.
8. In the File name box, type a name
for your presentation and then
choose “Save”.

3. Locate the system information of your device and get acquainted with the motherboard
specifications. These specifications include the motherboard description, CPU or processor, chipset,
memory, RAM, and many more, whichever is available. Take a screenshot and paste the device

6. Identify one memory disk available in your area. It may be a built-in disk or an external drive,
whichever is available. Take a photo of the memory disk and make a mini-instruction on how to use

Here are the steps to adopt your SD card:

1. Put the SD card on your Android phone and


wait for it to get detected.

2. Now, open Settings.
3. Scroll down and go to the Storage section.
4. Tap the name of your SD card.
5. Tap the three vertical dots on the top right
corner of the screen.
6. Select Storage Settings.
7. Choose format as internal option.
8. On the next screen, you have the final
chance to decide whether you want to
change your mind.
Tap Erase & Format if you want to format
your SD card as internal storage.
9. You will be notified if Android finds that
your SD card is slow. Tap OK to continue.
10. You can start the data migration process
now or do it at a later stage.

7. Identify one device available on your area for each of the device categories below. Take a photo

How to use this device:

Step 1: Place the mouse on a clean, smooth


surface, preferably a mouse pad. This allows
the mouse to move without interference. You
may have issues with the mouse if it is not on
a mousepad, such as it not scrolling smoothly

Step 2: Grip the mouse lightly in your


dominant hand.
Keep your fingers relaxed, and keep the
mouse at elbow level.

Step 3: Plug in the mouse with its USB


connector.
Look for a small square port about the size of
your USB connector. Insert the USB connector.

Step 4: Make sure the mouse is working. Your


computer should be on, and you should see a
cursor on the screen you can control by
moving your mouse.

Step 5: Practice clicking with the mouse. The


left button is the primary button for right-
handed users, and the right button is the
primary button for left handed users.

Step 6: Practice scrolling and dragging items


with the mouse. Move the wheel with your
pointer finger to scroll up and down pages

Step 1: Plug in the printer’s power cable and


make sure it’s turned on.

Step 2: Connect the included cable (usually a


USB cable) from the printer to the computer

Step 3: Open your computer. Select the file


you want to print and open the file so it
appears on your computer screen.

Step 4: Press the Ctrl and P buttons on your


keyboard at the same time.

Step 6: Once the printing pop-up menu


appears on your computer screen, select the
printer you intend to send the job to.

Step 6: If needed, modify your print settings.

Step 7: Click the Print button on screen to


send the job into the printer print queue and
wait for the job to complete.

How to use this device:


HOW TO USE:
Step 1: Understand what kind of smartphone
you have. While there many makes and
models of smartphones on the market today,
the two models of platforms they run are
Android and iOS.
Step 2: Install the SIM card.The SIM cars is
provided by your cellular service provider and
contains your account information and phone
number.
Step 3: Make sure your smartphone is fully
charged. Your smartphone comes with a
charger. To charger your smartphone, plug it
into an electrical outlet and plug the USB cable
into the charger.
Step 4: Power on your smartphone. Press and

Step 5: Select your language and region.
Step 6: Enter your wireless network and
password. Smartphones can connect to the
internet using two methods. They can access
mobile data from the 3G, 4G, 4G LTE, or 5G
network that your cellular service.
Step 7: Create or sign in to your email
account. In order to download apps and
access services for your device, you need to
sign in to account.
Step 8: Set up your lock screen security. It is
recommended that you select a lock screen
security option to prevent other people from
accessing your phone.
Step 9: Use the Setting app to your setup
options. If you need to change any of the
options you selected during the set up
process, you can do so using the Settings app
on your smartphone.

8. Identify one network you’re using on your device. Take a screenshot of the network and make a

.There are multiple cell phone network


type including 3G, 4G, 5G, LAN & WAN.
The main difference between these
systems is that they use different radio
networks to transmit signals. In my mobile
phone i use 2 different set of network the
wi-fi & mobile data.

To connect the wi-fi network on your


device:
1. Open your device setting app.
2. Top "Network connection" and wi-
fi/internet.
3. Tap a listed network. Networks that
require a password have a lock 🔒
Tip: After you connect the network is
"Saved" When your phone is near and
wi-fi is on, your phone automatically
connects to this network.

To connect Mobile data on your device:


1. Go to settings app then tap "Network
connection"
2. Tap the switch to activate the mobile.
Reminder: in order to connect to mobile
data you need to have a cellular sim card,
this will be the source of your internet
connection.

9. Identify three symptoms of malware attacks. Formulate ways on how to eliminate malware programs
on any device.
