The whole place was a blaze. A ring of fire surrounded us. It blocked all exits.

We
could not escape the fire.

I jerked out of bed and glanced through the window. It was already late. I went to
get my friends John and Adrian. We planned to go into the small mysterious forest.
It was behind our small town. We went to fetch some firewood for cooking and dry
grass for rabbits bedding.

We began our journey. The sun rays were filtering through the palm trees. Without
any luck to find dry firewood, we decided to look for dry grass. The sun had
already drifted across the tropical blue sky. The sun got hotter every minute. The
forest was so silent. I could only hear the howling of wind and tickling of my
watch.

In a jiff, the silent of the forest ended. There was a tremendous sound of the
burning fire. The whole forest was a blaze. Additionally, the fire burned everything
in its way including paths to go home. The wall of fire surrounded us. We were on
the horns of a dilemma. A cold blast of fear swept over us.

Moreover the burning forest produced the smoke that suffocated us. The light was
blinding our eyes. We were sweeting with awe and heat. We were not able to see
beyond the blaze. We sat open mouthed. We realized the danger. It was a
catastrophe. We uttered a roar fright that, any railway engine would be proud to
produce, yelling for help. It was helpless. No one came to rescue. We were almost
in despair.

The fire was getting closer and closer. Suddenly, a gust of wind came from
nowhere. It extinguished the flames on the Eastern side. This gave us a narrow
portion to escape. We race towards home on hot ground. It was not easy to run on
hot ground. We barely made it out of forest. It was a narrow escape.
