INT: CLASSROOM, AT COLLEGE – DAY.

The STUDENTS are getting ready to leave for the day when they
notice some loud noise outside. They take a glance around the
campus, to figure out what the commotion is about.

STUDENTS and STAFF are frantically running away from the

college.

Horrifying FIGURES are ruthlessly chasing them, ripping them

apart.

SHATTERED GLASS is visible all around with STUDENTS swiftly

escaping through the windows to get away from the monsters.

THE CAMERA PANS ACROSS THE CAMPUS, allowing the viewers to

experience the horrors that the STUDENTS must witness.

STEVE
(SHOUTS IN A FRIGHTENED TONE)
What’s happening? What are those things?

MELISSA
(CALMLY)
I’m not sure but we should get out of here right now.

ELEANOR
(SCREAMS)
Watch out, behind you!

CLOSE UP SHOTS OF THE MAIN 5 STUDENTS to show their scared,

confused facial expressions to the audience.

One of the MONSTERS’ grabs hold of BOB, brutally tearing her

apart.
ANDREW
(SLOWLY STATES WITH A SHOCKED EXPRESSION)
I think it’s a zombie.

All four remaining STUDENTS swiftly run away from the college
campus into a neighbouring forest.

EXT: CLEARING IN A FOREST – DAY.

The students gather their thoughts for a moment to process

what they had just witnessed before anybody speaks.

MELISSA
(CONFUSED)
What shall we do? Where shall we go?

STEVE
 (FRANTICALLY)
I need to get home to my family, make sure they’re alrig-

Before STEVE can finish his sentence, a zombie appears from a

bush, ready to grab its next victim.

The ZOMBIE bites a chunk out of STEVES arm before any of the
other classmates can react.

ANDREW grabs a nearby rock and smashes it at the zombie’s

head. The zombie lifelessly falls to the ground.

STEVE
(CRIES)
Will I turn into one of those things? I need to get to my
family to say goodbye just in case I do.

The three other STUDENTS unanimously decide that the right

thing to do is to get STEVE to his family.

MELISSA
(COMFORTING HIM)
Don’t worry, we’ll get you to your family.

CAMERA ZOOMS OUT OF FOCUS FROM THE STUDENTS TO ABOVE THE

TREETOPS, showing the viewers all the chaos erupting around
them.

EXT: ABANDONDED, NEARBY SCRAPYARD – EARLY EVENING.

ELEANOR wraps a bit of cloth from her clothing around STEVES

bitten arm to try stop the bleeding.

All four students then gather round to decide how they are
going to get to STEVES home.

MELISSA
So, what’s the plan? Where do you live STEVE?

STEVE
(IN PAIN)
I live in a farmhouse. My parents don’t often leave, and we
don’t get many visitors, so I doubt they’d even know what’s
going on. However, it’s quite a far distance to walk to
without any transport.

ELEANOR
I have an idea. There is a bike shop a couple miles from here,
if we can get there, we can take a few bikes and should easily
be able to get to ANDREWS house before nightfall.
EXT: BEHIND THE BIKE SHOP – EVENING
 The four students lurk in the trees behind the bike shop,
scouting out the area to make sure it’s all clear.

CAMERA PAN ACROSS THE SURROUNDING AREA showing a deserted

street with no signs of life.

ELEANOR
(QUIETLY)
Looks all clear. You all ready?

The three other students nod at her, then follow her lead.

They reach the entrance to the bike shop and examine the
inside to make sure it’s safe.

CAMERA ZOOMS IN ON THE INTERIOR OF THE SHOP.

ANDREW slowly pushes the door open, and a loud alarm suddenly
goes off.

MELISSA
(SHOUTS)
Quick, grab a bike and let’s get out of here!

INT: INSIDE THE BIKE SHOP - EVENING

All four students swiftly run to the nearest bike they see and
get straight out of there.

CAMERA PANS TO THE STREET WHERE A HERD OF ZOMBIES IS SHOWN

APPROACHING TOWARDS THE STUDENTS.

In a matter of minutes, the students emerge back at the

entrance of the shop, but STEVE isn’t in site.

ANDREW
(BRAVELY)
You two go on ahead I’ll meet you round back with STEVE. Go
now!

MELISSA and Eleanor cycle round to the back of the shop meanwhile
ANDREW looks for STEVE. He finds STEVE struggling to pull a bike
due to his injury. Andrew helps him pull the bike to a side exit
where they safely exit just in time before the herd catches
them.

The four students regroup at the back of the shop, get on their
bikes and cycle away in a hurry.

CAMERA TRACKS ALL FOUR STUDENTS AS THEY CYCLES THROUGH THE TREES
AND INTO THE DARK FOREST.
INT: ENTRANCE TO STEVES FARMHOUSE – NIGHT.
The four students arrive inside STEVES house.

STEVE
(SHOUTS)
Mum? Dad? Are you here?

There is no reply.

CAMERA ZOOMS INTO A CLOSE UP OF STEVES DESTROYED FACE, as he

wonders where they could be.

The four students set up some beds in the living room to

ensure they are safe during their sleep.

A LOUD BANG COMES FROM THE BACK GARDEN.

All students get startled by this. STEVE gets up to

investigate, ignoring the others who are telling him to stay
put.

STEVE
(ANGRILY)
What if it’s my parents?

EXT: STEVES BACKGARDEN – NIGHT.

*BANG*

STEVE once again jumps but notices that the sound came from
the shed.

He slowly approaches it hoping it’s his parents inside.

Meanwhile inside the house, ANDREW spots some movement from

the side of the house within the trees. It’s a zombie.

ANDREW
STEVE get back here now!

But as ANDREW says that STEVE opens the shed door to find his
zombified parents.

CAMERA DOES A CLOSE UP SHOT OF STEVES FACE. A tear drop falls

from STEVES eye moments before getting ripped apart by his
parents.

ANDREW
(SCREAMS)
NOOOO!

INT: LIVING ROOM – MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT.

A couple of hours has passed since STEVE died. Zombies have
surrounded the house due to all the loud noise they had made
earlier.

The three remaining students have almost given up hope and

don’t know what to do.

CAMERA focuses on some match sticks on the mantel piece in

front of MELISSA.

MELISSA
(FACE LIGHTENS UP)
Look. There are some match sticks.

ELEANOR
Okay, but what should we do with them?

MELISSA
These monsters are attracted to sound, right?

ANDREW
Right.

MELISSA
What if we made a huge fire in that corn field over there.
Maybe the zombies will

The 3 students take the match sticks and head upstairs. They
open a window and light one up.

ANDREW throws it over across the garden towards the corn

field. It works. The whole field instantly lights up with
flames.

CAMERA ZOOMS INTO STUDENTS’ FACES WHO HAVE HOPEFUL

EXPRESSIONS.

It works. The zombies start wondering towards the fire and

engulfing themselves in the flames.

EXT: FRONT GARDEN OF HOUSE – NIGHT.

The three students cycle off into the night.

CAMERA SHOWS STUDENTS CYCLING AWAY WITH LARGE FIRE IN THE

BACKGROUND.
