Adjectives
Adjectives are the words that describe nouns.

They can come before a noun: They come from six different countries.
They can come after verb be: My apartment is small.

Verbs
Verbs are parts of speech too. Verbs are the
words that describe an action or talk about
something that happens.

Can you identify verbs in these sentences?

It is important to know parts of speech because they have a special place in a
sentence. When we place them in the right order, our sentences make sense.

If we change the order of words in a sentence, the sentence might not make sense
or might be difficult to understand.
