This module will equip you with the necessary content knowledge, skills, and
competencies about the human person in the environment that you can apply in

able to answers various activities that will help you develop your potentials in
understanding the lesson.

environmentalism, environmental justice, etc. You are expected to identify how
humanity can address the damage inflicted on the environment and the development
of ethical views regarding the environment. Through this, you will be able to address
the environmental problems through recognizing and enhancing your philosophical
perspectives regarding the environment.

One important development that arose during the late twentieth century was
environmentalism. This perspective advocate addressing growing environmental
problems. Philosophy has a significant role in the development of environmental
awareness and actions. Several ideas and perspectives regarding environmental
actions emerged.
One important philosophical view of environmentalism is environmental ethics.
This is a moral approach that examines the relationship between humans and the
environment. It also addresses environmental problems caused by human activities
and social issues that impact the environment.
There are many important events empowered by the various philosophical views
regarding the environment. This is the reason for awakening the consciousness ad
awareness of humanity from several organizations locally and internationally,
governments, and countries to respond to protecting and preserving the environment.
There are also several policies and laws enacted to address environmental problems.
One of them was the declaration of Earth day which first held in 1970, which is a
global effort to raise awareness of environmental issues and inspire action among
communities.
