When Excel's mouse pointer is at "General Select" shape as

marked in below image, it is ready to select a cell or a range of
cells within in Excel worksheet.


Fill Data Filling refers to the process of filling cells with data. It is very
much like copying the contents of one cell to another, and in some
cases does exactly that. In other situations, filling can create a
series of data items in consecutive cells.

I-Beam Cursor The I-beam - indicates that you may type text in this area. The
fill handle - used for copying formula or extending a data series.
Used to select a whole row/column when positioned on the row
number or column letter.

Arrow. Resizes columns or rows. Double-clicking the mouse will

automatically fit the column or row to the widest contents for the
column or to the tallest contents for the row. Black Arrow. Selects a
 whole column (vertical arrow) or row (horizontal arrow).


 Fill data mouse pointer shape appears when you hover the

corner of the cell. When Excel's mouse pointer is at "Fill Data"
shape as marked in below image, it can fill data or extend a data
series.

Column Resize This lets you drag a column edge left or right, or a row edge up
or down, to resize the space.

Row Resize Mouse Row Resize Mouse Pointer appears when mouse hover at the
Pointer border between Row numbers. When Row Resize Mouse Pointer
appear, you need to click and drag to increase or decrease the
height of a row.

Move Selected cells Excel lets you move information from one cell into another cell,
which means you do not have to type the data into the new cell

and then erase the data in the old location. You might want to
 move data in a worksheet because the layout of the worksheet has
