LIFE SCIENCE or APPLIED SCIENCE

SHARING TIME
Life science is any of the disciplines that deal with
living organisms and their organization, life
processes and relationships to each other and to the
environment.

Applied science is a discipline that is used to

apply existing scientific knowledge to develop
more practical applications .
A2 Expectations
CUT AND CREATE
Cut and create a big
circle (1). Paste it in the
middle of the paper.

Cut and Create a

rectangle (2). Paste the
rectangle outside the
circle where two sides
touch the upper and
lower sides of the circle.
Cut a piece of paper
that resembles a line (3)
and paste it to divide
the rectangle lengthwise.

Cut and create a triangle (4)

.Let its highest point
touches the base of the
rectangle at its lower right.
SHARING TIME
CHOICE
Choice determines Character.

CLARITY
Clarity affords focus.
CONTEXT
The interpretation of our reality
through patterns not our own serves
only to make us ever more unknown,
ever less free, ever more solitary.
A3 The Research Agenda
GUESS OR NAME IT
The scientific study of everything that
animals do, whether these animals are
unicellular or multi-cellular. It is concerned
with understanding the causes, functions,
development and evolution of behavior

It encompasses anthropology, psychology

and sociology. It explores the activities and
interactions among human beings.
It explores the chemical processes within
and related to living organisms bringing
together biology and chemistry .

It is concerned with the molecular basis of

biological activity between molecules in the
various systems of cell including the
interactions as well as regulations.
It uses biological data to develop
algorithms and relations among various
biological systems .

It is an interdisciplinary subject spanning

the physics and chemistry , engineering
applications and industrial manufacturing
processes.
A branch of molecular biology concerned
with the structure, function, evolution and
mapping of genomes .

It uses computer simulation to assist in

solving chemical problems and uses methods
of theoretical chemistry to calculate the
structures and properties of molecules and
solids.
