METHODS OF RESEARCH
ABSTRACT
This study aimed to identify the level of preparedness of teacher education students
along the 21st Century Skills. The descriptive-survey method was used with the use of a
questionnaire-rating scale consisting of the 21 st Century Skills which were adapted and modified
from the framework of 21st Century Learning. The Field Study (FS) 6 students and faculty
members of the College of Teacher Education of the University of Cordilleras served as the
respondents. It was found out that, generally, the teacher education students were moderately
prepared along the 21st Century Skills with their level of preparation in Information,
Communication and Technology (ICT) Literacy Skills being the lowest.
The level of preparedness along the ICT Literacy Skills affects the development of critical
thinking and problem-solving skills of students. The ability to critically evaluate information
derived from media, functional, critical thinking and problem solving skills are enhanced with
the use of the ICT skills. The 21 st Century Skills can be developed among teacher education
students with the provision of relevant courses, program of activities and learning experiences
with the initiative to learn most especially along the ICT Literacy Skills.
The table constitute the core idea or the skeletal structure of the Case Study. Read the
principles and write your answers on the metrical table
Principle: A good introduction should show the need for the study, the reason for selecting it
and the theoretical/practical importance of the findings. (A review of literature showing that it
is a gap or a new area that needs to be systematically studied is essential).

Principle: A good research objective should be derived from a research problem based on a
project objective.
Principle: Use the best method and the most appropriate tool for gathering information.
