Team training
This Level 1 Food Hygiene and Safety course will help you to recognise your food
hygiene responsibilities so that you can act conscientiously and demonstrate to
customers that you and your business take food safety seriously. By taking this
training, you will develop a strong foundational knowledge of food hygiene practices
and food safety law, and show that you strive to follow best practice and are proud to
do so - something that will give your customers great confidence in your business.
This course is fully up to date with the latest UK laws, rules and regulations to ensure
you feel confident to apply the food safety practices mentioned to your own job role.
If your role involves directly handling or preparing food, then you need to take Level 2
Food Hygiene and Safety (available for retail, catering, and manufacturing) in order
to comply with food handlers’ legal obligations.
If you are a manager or supervisor in a food business, you will require Level 3 Food
Hygiene and Safety.
Certification
All of our courses are accredited by the CPD Certification Service as conforming to
universally accepted Continuing Professional Development (CPD) guidelines.
This course is also assured by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents
through their RoSPA Qualifications Assurance System, as providing up-to-date, quality
and content-approved training.
This certificate does not have an expiry date. However, based on industry best
practice guidelines, the recommended renewal period for this training is 3 years. We
will print this recommended renewal date on your certificate.
Understand the importance of food hygiene and safety and recognise the ill-
health issues that poor food hygiene can cause.
Understand what the law says about food safety and what you need to do to
comply.
Be able to identify food safety hazards and know how to prevent them from
causing contamination of food.
Recognise the importance of maintaining good standards of personal hygiene,
including handwashing.
Understand why it's so important to thoroughly clean the work premises, work
equipment and/or work vehicles.
Assessment
The online assessment is taken on completion of the training material. You will be
asked 20 multiple choice questions with a pass mark of 80%. The answers are marked
automatically so you will instantly know whether you have passed. If you don't pass
don't worry! You can take the test as many times as you need with no extra charge.
