“ TEMPERATURE SENSOR IN TELEMETRY LINED IOT “
 Meaning Of Temperature Sensor
Temperature Sensors or Temperature Sensors are components that can
converts heat into electrical quantities so that it can detect symptoms change in
temperature of a particular object. The temperature sensor takes measurements of the
amount hot/cold energy produced by an object that allows us to know or detect the
symptoms of these temperature changes in the form of Analog and Digital outputs.
The Temperature Sensor is also a member of the Transducer family.
Temperature monitoring system remotely using the MQTT protocol can be
implemented with using a local MQTT server as well as a global MQTT server.
Server usage Global MQTT allows temperature access to come from anywhere, at
any time anytime and anywhere as long as there is an internet connection.
 Types Of Temperature Sensor
1. Thermistor
 Advantages of thermistors:
- High rate of change in output
- Response to rapid temperature changes
- Changes in resistance at both terminals (pins) 9
 Disadvantages of Thermistors:
- Non-linear
- Narrow temperature measurement range
- Vulnerable to damage
- Requires power supply
- Experiencing self heating
2. Resistive Temperature Detector (RTD)
 Advantages of RTD :
- Higher accuracy than thermocouples
- Resistant to high temperatures
- Stable at high temperatures, because platinum is more stable than on other
metals.
- Its ability will not be disturbed over a wide temperature range
 Disadvantages of RTD :
- More expensive than thermocouples
- Affected by shock and vibration.
- Initial response time is a bit long (0.5 to 5 seconds, depending on
conditionsuse).
- The temperature range is lower than that of a thermocouple.
3. IC Sensor
 Advantages of IC temperature sensor:
- Generates an output signal (voltage or current) that is highly linear with
temperature change
- High voltage/current output signal so no additional circuit needed
- The price is cheap
- Can read temperature directly ( 1000mV = 100⁰C and 298µA = 298⁰K or
25⁰C ) on some analog devices
 Disadvantages of IC temperature sensors:
- Narrow temperature range, i.e. -50⁰C to 150⁰C . range
- Requires power supply
- Slow response
- Self heating
- Limited configuration
 Contact Temperature Sensor
The contact type temperature sensor is a temperature sensor that requires
contact (relationship) Physical with the object to be felt changes in temperature.
temperature sensor This type can be used to monitor the temperature of solids,
liquids and gases.
 Non-Contact Temperature Sensor
Non-Contact type Temperature Sensor is a temperature sensor that can
detect
changes in temperature by using convection and radiation so it does not require
direct physical contact with the object to be measured or detected temperature.
