1. SCOPE OF WORK
The purpose of this method statement is to describe the sequence of activities which will be
followed to execute Screed at India International Convention & Expo Centre (IICC) Project at
Sector -25 Dwarka, New Delhi

2. ACCESS / EGRESS
 Proper access and egress will be ensured before and of work.

4. RESPONSIBILITY

Preparing safe to start work card for all activities and giving PEP talk
based on the safe to start work card as part of the work instruction to
workmen working under him highlighting the risk involved in the task.
 To ensure safety of workmen working in his area. To ensure
proper working platform with access to keep materials.
 To ensure all working and checking tools are available at site with
working team before start of work.
 To ensure proper housekeeping at site at the end of day's

5. PLANT & EQUIPMENT

8. SEQUENCE! METHOD OF WORK

8.0.1 Screed

A. INTERDEPARTMENTAL INTERFACE

The EPCC finishing department to sought clearance from EPCC Civil department for laying of Screed with hardener
The clearance/comments will be shared to EPCC Finishing department as per their requirements by EPCC civil
department and vice versa.

After the completion of the activity, EPCC finishing department has to seek for internal clearance from EPCC QA/QC
team
The EPCC QA/QC team will issue clearance/comments for the completed activity.
Then the EPCC finishing team raises inspection request of the activity to Employer's engineer.
Then the Employer's Engineer will accord acceptance (duly verified and approved by Employer's representative
Finishing Team) or comments if any for which IR has been raised.

Comments if any will be recorded in LAT/BFRICC/SOP/ID1/003/R1 interdepartmental HOTO will be attached to the
IR

B. Setting Out and Preparatory Works

Setting out to be carried out for the panels to be casted.

With the use of MS channels the sides of the panels will be secured.
Formwork material such as plywood and timber can also be used preparing the sides of the panel.
Level Pads as per the slope given in approved Drawing will be made with concrete
Survey sheet after securing the sides of the panel and putting level pads will be prepared and witnessed by
Employer's Engineer.

Alternative casting of panels will be done.

The maximum size of panel will be restricted at 16 sqmt or as per Architecture detail design.
Thoroughly clean the surface of all damaging substance, loose laitance, oil grease, etc. If necessary. This shall be a

MS mesh shall be laid at all panel joints with mesh of size 300mm-10 SWG
It will be placed such that 150 mm of mesh will be casted in the panel and the rest will casted with the adjoining
panel.

Ensure pipeline for laying of Screed is completed.

C. Laying of Screed

The prepared 1:2:4/M15 (Approved Mix Design) concrete shall be laid immediately after mixing.
The concrete shall be spread evenly and leveled carefully.

Wooden trowels shall be used and concrete will be leveled carefully. /ss.

The layer shall be compacted by ramming or by vibrator and troweled and allowed to set.
Ensure that over vibration to the concrete is not done.

D. Groove Cutting Post Screed ( Within 72 Hours of casting)

Post screed level sheet will be made by Survey & Site Team.
When the surface is free from residual bleed water and is sufficiently hardened to allow light foot traffic groove cutting
will start.

Marking of the grooves will be done by survey and site team.

With the help of a diamond groove cutter the grooves will be cut as per Architecture detail design.
The depth of the groove will be a maximum of 1/4 the thickness of screed that is a maximum of 25 mm

The width of the groove will be 2-5 mm

Post completion of activity final survey sheet will be prepared and attached with IR.

E. Curing
Curing shall be carried out for 6 Days by keeping the screed moist.
Curing register will be maintained on site.

9. QUALITY ASSURANCE & CONTROL

Ensure necessary testing/checking is done as per ITP. Daily records of quality checks shall be maintained.

Guidelines for Good Workmanship as per technical specs shall be followed.

10. RECORDS
All mandatory Registers/records of EMPLOYER/EMPLOYER'S ENGINEER shall be maintained for the Project.
