Method Statement

1. Purpose

The purpose of this Method Statement is to define the activities and the sequences which are to be carried out

and to describe in general, the methodology to be used in work execution related to Gypsum Plastering works for

Kalyani Roshni Wework Project to ensure compliance with the conditions of contract, contract specifications and

Health, Safety and Environmental requirements consistent with the approved drawings, relevant specifications and

BOQ. Thus, the highest possible level of construction quality can be achieved when planning and executing the works

described herein.

2. Scope of work:

The scope of this Method Statement specifically covers the Gypsum Plaster Works in general for Kalyani Roshni

Wework at locations as mentioned in the drawings and shall be carried out in compliance with the approved technical

specifications, project HSE requirements and materials.

5. Access & Egress to the work area:
 Will use Scaffolds of specified make adhering to all parameters.
 Unloading area will be kept free from any obstacles.
 Safe area will be located for shifting of materials.
 Any obstruction in the shifting passage needs to be cleared.

6. Pre-Testing Checks
 Safety induction/orientation
 Job specific training
 Tool box talk
 Work permits
 Availability of tools in Healthy condition

7. Roles and Responsibilities


 The project Manager is responsible for the preparation and approval of this work procedure
 The Project manager/Site execution engineer are responsible for the overall execution of the works in
accordance with the steps outlined in this procedure and consistent with the approved project schedule
 The Project manager/Site execution engineer shall be responsible for controlling the coordination between
all involved parties to ensure Safety, Quality, controlling the progress of work, civil and MEP clearance
prior to start tiling work and to ensure final approval is obtained prior to starting next activity.
 The Survey Department is responsible for all the layout I setting-out, start point and establishing the
reference elevations related to the work.
 The HSE Engineer is responsible for the Monitoring of the Safety standards of all works taking place within
the site premises & reporting to the project manager where deficiencies are found.
 The HSE Engineer is also responsible to carry out Induction Training/ Safety Training / Tool Box Talk,
inspection of power tools & equipment’s.

9. Operational Sequence of work – Gypsum Plaster Application method


Mixing:
a) Surface cleaning
 clean the surface thoroughly
 water wash if required and allowed to dry
 Make the surface clean and free of dust, grease and oil stains.

b) Marking & Levelling
 Level pad will be marked at level of 1.0 mtr.
 Button mark will be fixed

c) Bondit application for RCC Surface


 Apply Bondit bonding agent on to the RCC surface
 GI mesh will be installed at junction of concrete and masonry and electrical conduits
 Shake and stir the contents of Gyproc bondit thoroughly before use and apply as a
single coat application.
 Do not dilute contents of Gyproc bondit.
 Apply with even distribution of fine aggregates over the surface with a paint brush.
 Allow it to dry thoroughly before starting the Gypsum Application.
 The bonding agent dries within 30 minutes and the gypsum plaster can be applied
anytime within 24 hours once the drying is complete.

d) Application
 Take full hands with plaster out of the bucket and apply them pad by pad, one next
to the other to the wall. The pads should be thicker as the final plaster thickness
given by the gages. The plaster pads should not start to flow down. Otherwise, the
consistency of the plaster is still too liquid (in case mix more powder in)
 When the bucket is emptied, another parallel mixed bucket of plaster can be applied
the same way.
 Then take the ruler and level the plaster along the gages
 Scratched off material can be applied in not completely filled spots
 Within maximum three “scratches”, the plaster surface should be closed well and
even
 When the plaster starts to set, a final “scratch” can be done, to smoothen the
surface
 Termination line should be in line with the level.
 After the application, the area will be cleaned using vacuum cleaner.

Application methodology on RCC walls with Gypsum Plaster


 clean the surface thoroughly
 water wash if required and allowed to dry
 Shake and stir the contents of Adhesive thoroughly before use and apply as single coat
 Application through brush or sprayer
 Do not dilute the content
 Apply with even distribution over the surface
 Allow to dry for 24 hours till the surface become tacky
 Start applying gypsum or ready plaster as per the need

10. Manpower
The sufficient number of workers (Gypsum Workers, helpers, Foreman etc.) will be employed as per site
requirement to perform their duties and they will have sufficient tools and tackles to completed the work
assigned to them.

11. Housekeeping: -
 All work area shall be kept free from any dirt, debris, unwanted materials, etc.
 All materials placed in piles shall be done so in a manner that maintains safe clearance and that Prevents
tripping or movement.
 All loose materials shall be secured.
 Accumulation of any materials that may create fire hazards is strictly prohibited.
 Excessive amount of materials is not to be stacked on floors or other supported areas in any manner that
may possibly over weights any structural area. Passages, stairways shall be kept clear of observation
