SAFETY NOTES

• Complete required Permit-To-Work (PTW).


• Lockout / Tag-out Permit required.
• Review / Complete Job-Safety-Analysis (JSA).
• Inform Area authority if work is carried out on critical equipment for ongoing
operation.
• Do not wear jewellery when working around rotating machinery.
• Wear all proper safety equipment.

JOB PLAN INSTRUCTION

1 Ensure all battery racks have a wood or lead lining (only applicable to metal boxes).

2 Ensure the battery location is well ventilated.


Ensure all batteries are correctly secured in there racks and all locking brackets are in good

condition.
4 Ensure all battery terminals are clean, there is no corrosion and cable connections are tight.
Clean maintenance free batteries and ensure the battery post connections are clean and the

connections tight.
6 Ensure the battery posts are coated with protective gel.

7 Check level of the electrolyte which should be above the internal plates.

8 Check all cables for damage.


Ensure all battery chargers are located in a safe, clean, well ventilated area and mounting

brackets are securely bolted down and corrosion free.
10 Check that all the chargers are working correctly and there are no signs of overheating.

11 Clean all battery chargers and check for damage and loose connections.

12 Check all switches are operational.

13 Ensure all meters are reading correctly.
