a)Reasons for adopting contraceptive methods:


1. Avoiding frequent and unwanted pregnancies.
2. For controlling the size of the family to improve one's standard of living.
3. Financial insecurity
4. Preventing sexually-transmitted diseases.
b) Copper-T is an intrauterine device which does not allow fertilisation to take place. As it does
not provide any barrier against mixing of body fluids from two individuals, therefore, it acts
only as a contraceptive method but does provide protection against STDs.

Q7..What happens if the mature ovum is not fertilized in a female? Name the process.
