Guide Reflections: Evaluate what method of social work can be applied best as well as the
tool needed for each.

It seems that not all people are fortunate to have a good life. I felt pity and sad when
watching the video. I realize that a lot of those children went through a series of problems
and struggles in their lives where they all felt miserable in all aspects of a person's life. I
honestly would say that the video emphasizes the effect of poverty in our country. I quickly
engaged myself on the shoes of those children and I saw how it is hard to live like that. Most
especially that they are young children who are not capable of living for themselves and yet
they survive by having a few resources of food and shelter given by their parents. I was
deeply humbled from the bottom of my heart in ways of realizing how privileged I am to eat
three times a day, having a roof on top of my head and being able to buy things for my own.
As I end this reflection of remorse towards those children, I would like to make a promise
that I need to be grateful and be happy for my life. Now I can honestly say that I can't picture
myself having a life like that. But I can help those kinds of children someday and work hard
and it will make me motivated to do the things for my future and for my family.

Buknoy - abusive parents, need to work for his family, malnourished. I think the best
method for this situation is social work for primary discipline(Foster Care). It is seen the
video he is troubling as well on his relationship with his peers and parents. I also know
that feeling of not being accepted by my environment as well. It is necessary to take this
method because the social worker will treat and give professional knowledge for him to
change his attitude and behavior. Michael -young garbage picker, need to work because
of poverty. As young as he is, the narrator is described as a 40 year old man because he
always eats rice and salt. Because of that nutrition, he works everyday to be able to buy
his own food. The method of social work as primary discipline (Income Maintenance) is
needed for him to have finances from the people who fed him.

Dodoy- lives under a bridge, hunger

Jun and Roselle - poverty, parents want a bright future and healthy children
For these siblings I think would be best to take the method of social work as primary
discipline (Family counseling). It involves case works for the family to be guided by
social workers and strengthen their relationships. Another method is social work as an
equal partner. For them to engage with community programs such as health care, meals
and home care services.
Sudan - extremely malnourished, on the brink of death.
