Conditional sentences refer to the situation in the present time. However, it is likely that what is
happening is the opposite of the conditional sentences. In other words, we can say that
conditional sentence is our imagination of something that could happen, but it doesn’t.
There are two ways to form a conditional sentence. These are the examples:
When using If – clause to start a sentence, never forget to use comma (,) in
between both clause.
Notice that there is no comma (,) used when starting the sentence with main
clause.
“Were” is always used in conditional sentences regardless of the subject.
More Examples:
I would like to send an invitation to a friend. I have looked everywhere for her address,
but I cannot find it. So now I think it is rather unlikely that I will eventually find her
address.
Example: If John had the money, he would buy a Ferrari.
I know John very well and I know that he doesn't have much money, but he loves
Ferraris. He would like to own a Ferrari (in his dreams). But I think it is very unlikely
that he will have the money to buy one in the near future.
1. If I _________ (play) the lottery, I _____________________(have) a chance to hit the jackpot.
