• The question paper consists of 14 questions and is divided into 3 sections A, B and C.
• Section A contains 6 questions each carrying 2 marks, section B contains 4 questions
each carrying 3 marks, section C contains 4 questions each carrying 4 marks.
• Use of calculators is not permitted.
SECTION A
1. Find the value of: 3x2 + 2xy2 – 5x2y, when x = −1 and y = −2 (2)
2. Find the breadth of a rectangular plot of land, if its area is 440m2 and the length is 22m. Also find (2)
its perimeter.
3. Simplify using laws of exponents and answer in exponential form: (2)
(a) (320 ÷ 315) × 33

(b) 82 ÷ 23
4. The data about the weight (in kg) of 15 students of a class is given below: (2)
41, 42, 35, 37, 45, 50, 32, 43. 41, 40, 36, 41, 43, 41, 47
(i) Find the mode and median of this given data
(ii) Find the range of this data.
5. Sumit’s annual salary in 2019 was Rs 11,00,000. His salary increased by 5% in 2020. What is his (2)
new annual salary?

6. Draw a line ‘m’, take a point A outside it. Through A, construct a line’n’ parallel to ‘m’, using ruler (2)
and compass.
SECTION B
7. A man sells a cycle for Rs 16,900. He loses 30% in the bargain. What was the cost price of the (3)
bicycle?
8. Construct a right - angled triangle ∆ 𝑃𝑄𝑅 where angle Q = 900, QR = 8cm and PR = 10cm. (3)

9. In a circular ground of radius 66 m there is a 4 m wide running track around it. What is the area of (3)

SECTION C
11. (a) Brass is alloyed with 30% of zinc and 70% copper. If 560g of copper has been used in an alloy, (4)
find the weight of zinc in the alloy.
(b) Amit paid an interest of Rs 450 after 3 years at the rate of 5% on a certain sum borrowed by
him. Find the sum borrowed by him.
12. In the given figure, find the area of the shaded region: (4)

13. From the sum of 3x + 2y – 9 and 2x – 6y + 2 subtract the sum of (4)

4x – 9y – 1 and 3x − 8y + 7.
