Free Trade occurs when trade barriers such as tariffs and quotas are lifted, eliminated or
reduced according to the Focus of the Bretton Woods System. In other words, A policy implemented
by international markets is called Free trade. Government disabled restrictions on imports and
exports.

People are free to purchase and sale of goods and services between neighboring
countries without inflicting constraints such as tariffs, duties, or quotas. The Free Trade policy
benefits the Philippines in many ways because of its huge impact on the Philippine economy. It
gives Filipino-produced products a chance to showcase how good our they products are. For
example, the Trade department agreed to the Philippines' duty-free market access for all industrial
and fisheries tariff lines. Tariff license on frozen tuna/mackerel, canned pineapple, crude coconut
oil, and fresh/dried bananas, which will benefit the Philippine agriculture sector is also heavily
secured by the country. The employment rate also fluctuates because more Filipino are employed
due to the high international demands for Filipino products like Jollibee and Mang-Inasal. Many
Filipino people are hired internationally, and Filipino-based products are exported as well. Filipino
people can also afford cheaper products because of Chinese import products here wherein we can
save a lot of money.

Therefore, Free trade is the first step toward globalization of an economy and provides
numerous opportunities to the people living there.

LESSON 3: THE GLOBAL INTERSTATE SYSTEM AND

CONTEMPORARY GLOBAL

GOVER
ACTIVITY #1: Discuss me!

Direction: Read and understand the statement below. Express your thoughts through a 7-sentence
essay. Write your answers in the box found below. (10 Points)

“A Nation of Networks, A networks of

Nation”
The network is associated with the term connection. I think this motto is inspired
by globalization because globalization allows the nations to work as one and to be
connected to share benefits. Our world should work like a network of nations to
allow intercultural participation and education. We should educate ourselves on
how to respect, adapt and embrace the culture of another country. This can only be
achieved if "A Nation of Networks, A networks of Nation" is engraved into the
heart of humanity. Globalization is the product.

A peaceful community may be hard to achieve because if we look at the real-life situation, people
behave uniquely. Moreover, some people don't like to be told what to do, and it's their own life that
I have no control over. However, to promote peace in your community, peace should start within
yourself because I believe in the power of influence. If you had a chaotic mind, this disrupts how
you think, and you might hurt other people. If people see how peaceful you are and how it helps you
as a person, they might apply it as well. It is essential to acknowledge everyone's point of view in
life since it aids you to understand why they became that person, and if conflicts happen you choose
to understand them to minimize the conflict as possible. Lastly, be a kind-hearted person by
greeting people in a friendly way when passing on the sidewalk. By stopping when I see someone
with a dog so that the dog is not tempted to bark at me. By giving a friendly wave when a car stops
to let me cross the street. By being kind to the people who wait tables, or do anything else for me.
