Therefore, they have important directional values for people in their perception and
practical activities. This directional value, in principle, is not different from the
directional value of the general principles and laws stated by a certain specialized
science about a certain field of reality, such as reality. term, does not differ from
the directional value of the law of conservation and transformation of energy, of
the law of universal gravitation, of the law of value, etc. The difference is only in
that, because of the principles and laws. of the materialist dialectic is a reflection of
the most common aspects, attributes, and relationships of both nature, society and
thought, so they have a directional effect not only in a certain extent. certain
determinations as to the principles and laws set forth by the specialized sciences,
which are in all cases. They help people, when embarking on research and
activities to change things, not from an empty piece of land, but always from a
certain position, to foresee the general direction of movement. object, preliminarily
identifying the basic milestones that the research or the improvement of things
must go through, that is, they help people to determine the overall path to go, get
the direction to set the target. problem as well as problem solving, avoiding
mistakes or groping in the midst of a complex mass of relationships without
thought to guide.
For example, one of the pressing problems that almost any period of society
faces - the problem of attitudes towards religion. In Vietnam, religious issues have
sometimes been solved in simple, administrative ways, with little scientific basis
without seeing all the complexity of the problem.
Religion is a social phenomenon that appears and exists for certain objective
reasons. In the early periods of history, the domination of external natural forces
was decisive for the birth and survival of religion. Until a class society appeared,
2
besides those natural forces, there were also social forces. Those social forces are
also opposed to humans, alien to people, and also control people's lives in a
mysterious and confusing way just like the forces of nature. In class societies,
social oppression is the main source of religion. Therefore, in order to overcome
the negative effects of religion, we must fight against the material causes that have
produced religion. In the end, all oppression and social injustice must be
eliminated, not just using religious prohibition measures. Therefore, on the one
hand, we advocate freedom of religion, considering it a right of every human
being, but on the other hand, we carry out a socialist revolution in order to build a
society without people exploit people and thereby eliminate the deep social roots
that gave birth to religion, causing religion to perish by itself. It is a scientific way
and it can only be obtained on the basis of a materialist position.
Philosophy as the most general worldview and methodology, but not something
too far-fetched and illusory, on the contrary, it is very closely associated with life,
3
with practice, which is what direction, what guides us in action. From a correct
philosophical stance, particularly from those of dialectical materialism, we can
obtain correct solutions to the problems posed by life. On the other hand, coming
from a wrong philosophical position, we cannot avoid wrong action. It is here that
the directional value is expressed - one of the specific manifestations of the
methodological function of philosophy.
The pressing problems posed by life and practical activities are always very
specific, but in order to effectively solve those specific problems of life, no one
may avoid dealing with the common problems involved. BECAUSE. Lenin once
remarked: "He who embarks on his own problems before settling on the common
ones, he will never, at every step, avoid "running into" those common problems.
unconscious way. To blindly encounter those problems on a case-by-case basis
means to expose our policy to the worst fluctuations and to lose its principle
altogether.
4
This is the problem of philosophy and the study and solving of problems of
opinion will provide the right theoretical basis for the effective resolution of all
specific problems. Without sound rationale, people will always have to act in a
groggy state and policies will inevitably fall into a state of arbitrariness. Therefore,
studying and solving philosophical problems posed by real life is not a useless job,
but a practical contribution to solving very practical problems, specifically body,
the oppression of life.
The fact that the effectiveness of philosophical research lies in the guiding value
for practical activities is extremely rich and diverse of the general, highly
generalized conclusions that it reaches, not and does not. can be specific answers
for each specific case. That shows that philosophy plays a huge role in solving very
specific problems of life.
Thus, in order to be able to effectively deal with the very complex and diverse
concrete problems of life, we need to avoid both false extremes: Either belittle
philosophy and that will fall into a state of groping, arbitrarily, easily content with
specific temporary measures, go to the place of disorientation, lack of foresight,
lack of initiative and creativity in work; or absolutize the role of philosophy and
thereby fall into dogmatism, mechanically applying the general principles and laws
of philosophy without being aware of the specific situation due to lack of
understanding. that particular situation in each particular case.

Marxist-Leninist philosophy is the basis of the scientific and revolutionary
methodological worldview to analyze the development trend of society in the
context of the strong development of modern scientific and technological
revolution.
The basic contradictions of the era still exist but have taken on new
characteristics and new forms. At the same time, a host of other global
8
contradictions are emerging. The world in the twenty-first century still exists and
develops in that system of contradictions, in which the main contradiction is the
contradiction between the interests of the bourgeoisie and the interests of the vast
majority of mankind who are aiming for the ultimate goal. goal of peace, national
independence, democracy and social progress. To realize that noble goal, mankind
must have scientific and revolutionary reasoning to light the way. That theory is
Marxism-Leninism in general and Marxism-Leninism in particular.
Since the success of the Russian October revolution, real socialism has
demonstrated the superiority of a new model of society by people, for human
happiness. However, the realistic model of socialism, due to many objective and
subjective reasons, has revealed its limitations, most notably a centralized,
important socio-economic management mechanism. allowances, subsidies. It is in
the current situation that there must be a basis of worldview, scientific and
revolutionary methodology to explain and analyze the crisis, the development trend
of world socialism and the direction to overcome it. for development.
9
of the requirement to renew the current philosophical awareness. Besides the
undeniable positive side, the perception and application of Marxist-Leninist theory,
including Marxist-Leninist philosophy, after a long time suffering from dogma,
sclerosis, backwardness, inadequacy, is one of the causes of the crisis of world
socialism. Many theoretical problems, due to limitations of historical conditions,
have not been fully explained or predicted by the founders of Marxism - Leninism.
Therefore, continuing to supplement and innovate is an intrinsic and urgent need of
Marxist-Leninist philosophy in the current period.

the world situation, international relations, the trend of the times, the actual
situation of the country and the world. future development path. The Marxist-
Leninist philosophical worldview pointed out that the inevitable logic of human
social development is socialism; capitalism will eventually be replaced by a better,
more equitable regime; holistic human development. The Marxist-Leninist
philosophical worldview helped determine the correctness of the path to socialism.
