As a future teacher handling young children in school, how do you plan your daily instruction?
Describe the brief process on the box below.

When dealing with young children, it is important to remember that learners are
watching our actions, so we need to be aware of what we are doing and the
choices we are making.

It is possible that you have several questions to consider when planning your daily
classroom teaching. Which among the questions will most likely guide you? Write down
(/) before all questions that apply. Then, rank the questions from your highest (1) to
least (15) priority.

Question Rank
A What should your students need to know, understand, or be able to 8
do?
B How will your students demonstrate mastery of learning? 10
C How will you guide your students so they can reach that certain level 9
of mastery?
D What learning materials will you utilize? 11
E What method of assessment will be most applicable? 6
F What learning activities will enable the students to acquire target 4
knowledge, and develop target skills and competencies?
G How much time will each activity require? 7
H What are the interests and learning preferences of the students? 5
I What are the criteria for success? How well should the students 3
know the content after instruction?
J How will the student outputs be graded? 1
K What do students already know about the topic? 2
L What are the content standards and performance standards are stated 13
in the K-12 Curriculum Guide?
M Are the learning objectives aligned with the content and performance 14
standards?
N Are the activities developmentally appropriate for the learners? 12
O What teaching strategy is the bets for this topic? 15

Analyze
Listed on the table below are questions we consider when planning for
instruction. Each question pertains to elements of classroom instruction
(e.g., teacher, students, learning resources, time, assessment, etc.) that
must be prepared before instruction happens. Identify the classroom
instruction element each question refers to. The first item is done for you.

Write in column A the components of an instructional plan. Then, in column

B, illustrate in a diagram or graphic organizer the relationship among these
components.

Components of an Instructional Plan

 Gaining attention * Informing learners of the objectives

 Stimulating recall * Providing feedback
of the learning * Assessing performance
 Enhancing retention and * Eliciting performance
Transfer * Presenting the stimulus
 Providing learning * providing learning guidance

Abstract
Answer the following questions.
1. Which of the nine events do you include in your instructional planning?

All instructional planning because I believe the all of the nine

instructional important to be used because we need to have a
presentable-instructional materials, for the sake of our learners.

2. Which of the nine events do you include in your planning for MTB-MLE subject?

All of the instructional materials

3. What do you consider in choosing these priorities?

I consider the possible outcomes of the materials, because it’s for

my future learners.

4. Which is the most important? why?

For me is the preparation, because as a teacher should look up the

possibilities or the positive feedback our learners would be.

Apply
1. For each event in Gagne’s list, come up with tips and guidelines for you as
future teacher. You can read relevant online sources or the google drive
sent in our Google Classroom containing sample LAS and LP.

Events of Instruction Sample Classroom Activity

Gaining Attention  Play games
 Use clever attention
 Be patient

Informing Learners in the  Consider stating objectives both

Objective orally and in writing and
repeating them during the
lesson to remind students why
they are learning.

Stimulating recall of prior  Ask question about previous

learning experiences
 Ask students about their
understanding of previous
concepts.
Presenting Stimulus  Determine the overall goal for
the course strategies and
techniques to successfully
collect.
 Identify the main criteria that will
help you reach the overall goal.

Providing learning guidance  Concept mapping for

association
 Role playing for visual of
application
 Graphics to make visual
association

Eliciting performance  Knowledge checks, quizzes, and

tests
 E-learning branches scenarios
 Activities, projects, and writing
assignments
 Role-playing situations
 Group discussions and sharing.

Proving feedback  Describe the situation

 Describe the behavior their
action had
 Listen to the reaction
 Help acknowledge or clarify
 Agree on actions
 Confirm understanding
 End on a positive note
Assessing performance  An open-minded question that
gets them writing/taking
 Ask students to reflect
 Use quizzes
 Ask students to summarize
 Hand signals
 Response cards
 Four corners
 Think pair share

Enhancing retention and transfer  Stay goal oriented

 Repeat what you have taught
 Take a multisensory approach
 Encourage note taking
 Create idea associations
 Use sense of smell
 Make an emotional connection
 Use rhymes

2. Examine examples of Learning Activity Sheets below, identify the presence

of any of the nine events of instruction proposed by Gagne. If ever you find
new element, identify and briefly discuss.

Instructional Sample Plan Events of instruction Remarks

1. Gaining attention Stimulate students
with novelty,
uncertainty, and
surprise.

2. Informing learners of the Inform students of the

objective objectives or
outcomes for the
course and individual
lesson to help them
understand what they
are expected to learn
and do.

3. Stimulating recall of prior Have students

learning incorporate prior
learning into current
activities.

4. Presenting the stimulus Materials of a visual,

verbal and/or auditory
nature used to
communicate certain
ideas to enable them
to researched, or to
stimulate discussion
of relevant topics.
5. Providing learning Helps students learn
guidance how to learn.

6. Eliciting performance Gives students an

opportunity to
demonstrate that they
learned the new
information to this
point and are ready to
proceed to the next
part of the lesson.

7. Providing feedback Gives students

information about the
adequacy of their
responses in the elicit
performance.

8. Assessing performance Implement a variety of

assessment methods
to provide students
wit multiple
opportunities to
demonstrate
proficiency.

9. Enhancing retention and Helps learners retain

transfer more information by
providing them
opportunities to
connect curse
concepts to potential
real-world
applications.

What makes an instruction effective? Develop a rubric for an effective

instructional plan. Write your criteria on the blanks provided on the left side. (The
first criteria on goals and objectives is done to serve as your sample)

Lesson Synthesis:

1. What new insights did you learn from this lesson?

With planned lessons, you have actual paper work of everything
you`ve thought, so you can refer back to it later.

2. What is the importance of instructional planning?

Teachers are well prepared to achieve the educational goals of
all students, including using a variety of tools to design a
comprehensive lesson plan that meets the curriculum goals of
the institution and its community. Make sure.
3. What is the importance of instructional planning in teaching MTB-MLE?

Using your native language allows your child to develop critical

thinking and literacy skills. Studies show that children learning
in their native language have a better understanding of the
curriculum.
