COURSE SYLLABUS

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This is a three-unit course that studies the evolution of the information age, and the challenges and responsibilities that the
church faces.This course explains how the influence of Information Technology defines the way we live today. It identifies the
different discoveries and inventions on computers that help mold Information Technology as we know it.The students of this course
will be acquainted with the history of computers and information technology. They must be able to define the different pros and cons
in living in IT Era, familiarize the new trends and upcoming technologies, and construct the possible future of information technology

COURSE OBJECTIVES
At the end of the semester, the students shall:

1. Discuss the importance of technology in our day to day activity.


2. Discover opportunities where one can use computer skills in real-world scenarios and collaboratively create an online portal.
3. Demonstrate appropriate skills in using several computer applications.
4. Create a foundation of understanding the world of IT.
5. Develop, promote, and publish a campaign for social change using various free tools and services.
6. Instruct, share and to teach others about their knowledge in terms of computer.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS / POLICIES

1. Students are required to attend class session on time. Classes shall start at the scheduled time except in some emergency and
special cases. There shall be a ten (10)- minute allowance for students to get to the class after which the door shall be closed
during the remainder of the class session. A student with three (3) unexcused absences shall automatically receive a failing
grade. In cases when a student cannot attend the class, he / she must write a letter to the instructor detailing the reason/s for the
absence. This letter MUST bear his / her pastor’s signature. Failure to present the letter shall be counted as absence from the
class.
2. Students are required to participate in class discussion, take pre and post-test, quizzes and practical test.
3. Students are required to submit assignments as determined by the instructor
4. Each student is required to take Midterm and Final Exams.
5. Each student is required to prepare a report on a given topic by the instructor and present it through power point presentation,
applying their basic knowledge in making a power point presentation (slide shows, design, animation, and visual graphics)
with 25 slides minimum and present it in the class as scheduled.
6. Each student is required to write a research paper regarding their topic report and present it to the instructor at the end of the
semester.
