Task 1

The column chart gives information about the number of animals such as: Dolphins, Sharks, and tigers
that lived in Africa from 2015 to 2019.

Overall, it is clear to see that the population of three kinds of animals was not the same over the given
period. In addition, the number of dolphins plummeted during five years, in contrast with the sharks.

Looking at the chart in more detail, in 2015 the number of dolphins reached the top (at one hundred
and nearly fifty thousand) but it seems to soar dramatically, and then end at a tiny number in 2019.
Besides, the trend of shark population was increasing, it began at a small number in 2015 but it
skyrocketed and became the largest at the end of the period (at one hundred and forty thousand). The
quantity of Tiger experienced minor changes, in 2017 it increased a quarter than that of in 2015 and
then went down slightly (about 0.1 percent) in 2019.
Task 2

In the era of technology, people are more and more familiar with social networking platforms, especially
Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, a few to mention. The advent of these social media, to some people, have
positive influences on how people interact and make friends with others. However, many hold the
opposite perspective, which is that social media affects people’s relationships adversely. Society might
never be able to settle this dispute but, personally, I am of the latter opinion, and this essay aims to
prove my claim.
As regards the view that concerns the advantages of social networking sites, it is obvious that they bring
about some benefits for the users’ relationships. In addition to this, many platforms help people to
expand their friend circle effectively, even ones from far-away places where it is hard to be in person.
For instance, a lot of Vietnamese people make friends with ones from overseas and to keep the
relationship, they often message, or even call, to each other via several specific social networking
platforms, such as Facebook or Instagram. Moreover, using social networks can help people to keep in
touch with friends that they cannot meet face-to-face.

Nonetheless, this is refuted by other individuals who espouse the idea that social media worsen
relationships. Firstly, social networking sites often embark on many tragic incidents. Social network is a
means of cyber-bullying, which contributes greatly to people having depression and other mental
illnesses. For more details, many students often neglect social networks while their friends usually make
some clone accounts to threaten them and then, for the lingering consequences, they often have the
aforementioned illnesses. These people usually lose their relationships while it is not actually their fault,
which is quite unfair.

To sum up, technology in general and social media in particular, can have many negative impacts on
people’s relationships even though they have some merits.
