Cultural diplomacy, as the cornerstone of public diplomacy, plays an important role in today's
international relations, characterized by so-called culture clashes, and should be a decisive tool not only
for transmitting national culture and values, but also for listening what the cultures of the rest of the world
are telling us. The main role of cultural diplomacy is to promote transnational dialogue between cultures
and nations. Cultural diplomacy, like other new dimensions of diplomacy, is not the exclusive domain of
nation-states, since they are not currently the only actors on the international stage, but non-state actors
(civil society, NGOs, universities, academics, etc.) play a leading role in this field. The objective of this
article is to analyze the role of culture in modern diplomacy and its impact on relations between peoples
and nations. It also intends to focus on the positive aspects of the influence of culture in contemporary
international relations.

Spain considers Algeria a neighbor and friend, as well as a strategic partner from the political and
economic point of view, including in the energy field, as well as a pole of regional stability ; So bilateral
efforts are necessary and welcome. Memoranda and agreements must be extended, developed and, above
all, implemented. Better dialogue on energy and the facilitation of collaboration between companies
requires operational monitoring mechanisms if it is to create a more responsive and predictable
investment climate, with clear channels for the settlement of trade disputes.

framework of Spanish-Algerian bilateral relations ; Historical study of the translation of official
documents after the independence of Algeria.
