Some people believed that reading helps improve language abilities and

imagination than gluing to the television. Personally, I agree with this point for
some reasons, and this aim of essay is to analyzed both of views and give my
opinion.
On the one hand, books use text to express the author’s ideas and there are
no images in the book, therefore, we have to concentrate while reading. For
example, when we reading a book, we normally imagine the shape of characters in
the brain while following the story. By contrast, TV shows or many movies are
usually pre-made for the viewer. Gradually, we will lose the creativity and the
communication with our parents. Meanwhile, if we watch too much TV, it will
negatively affect the eyes and the activities of the nerves in the body, the
processing speed of the brain will be slow and make learning difficult.
On the other hand, books are different, reading is a more active form of
entertainment and learning. The reader must focus on what is being said and think
through the concepts in the book. When we read, we are forced to use our
imagination to think. Books also have the advantage of being able to describe
things better. While television primarily consists of dialogue between characters,
books can guide the reader through scenes, thoughts of characters, and provide
longer commentary.
Reading a book make we a knowledgeable person, expand our mind, relive stress,

In conclusion, I think that reading for pleasure is a greater way to boosting
creativity and language skills than just glancing at TV programs.
