1. Among the 3 proposed titles, which do you Highly prefer?

Among the titles that we have proposed the first title is the one that we prefer the most. Because
it contains they key points and the main focus of our research, which are the ingredients the
product we are aiming to produce.
2. What problem prompted you to propose such Study?
Without a doubt, one of the beauty concerns in our country is the appearance of our hair. Most
Filipinos used different products and even undergo to rebonding just to maintain a smooth and
silky hair. But some of this are harmful to our hair and scalps as they contain alcohol, synthetic
colors, petroleum jelly etc. Thus, we have decided to create a hair serum spray that is 100%
organic and consists of ingredients that can be seen in our backyards or any bushes.
3. What do you mean by mimosa pudica and nalta jute?
MIMOSA PUDICA also known as shameplant or makahiya is a herb that can be found in Asian
countries and Tropical Americas, heavily armed with recurved thorns and having sensitive soft
grey green leaflets that fold and droop at night or when touched and cooled The herb has been
used traditionally for ages as it majorly possesses antibacterial, antivenom, antifertility,
anticonvulsant, antidepressant, aphrodisiac, and various other pharmacological activities.
Furthermore it help in the development of new hair cells and helps in controlling hair fall. NALTA
JUTE also known as Jew’s Mallow or Saluyot is a tropical, annual herb that is upright, branching,
and slightly woody. The leaves are shiny and have leaf stalks. The flowers are yellow and small
and form into clusters in the axils of the leaves. It can be found in Africa, India, Myanmar and
Philippines. Nalta jute leaves are very rich in calcium, vitamins A, C, and K. These vitamins add
nutrients to the hair, strengthening them from the inside out, and helps get rid of split ends.
They also improve the health of teeth and gums and preserves bone density.
4. What possible contributions can this study Yield?
This study can encourage the beauty industry especially here in our country to look for
alternative organic ingredients that can be found here and are not harmful to our health,
particularly our hair. This also create opportunities for us to be able to further investigate our
own resources especially herbs that can be beneficial to us and also affordable.
- This study will not only encourage readers to use organic products but also encourages
them to use our local herbs that are beneficial to our health.
5. What theory can you anchor in this study?
RATIONAL CHOICE THEORY
Considering that Mimosa pudica and Nalta jute are herbs that haven’t been experimented
enough by experts, especially the other benefits that it can give to hair, we expect our study to
bear fruit information that can further solidify the benefits of this herbs, particularly in our hair.

We intend to seek for the effectiveness of our product, what change can it bring once tested and
will we achieve our goal which is making hair smooth and healthy.
8. There were many studies about this topic. Why propose still?
Indeed there are already a lot of studies and products that are organic based, but what sets our
product/study apart from others is the used of herbs that are normally treated as grasses and
aren’t well known to be beneficial. We intend to give insight and possibilities with regards to the
use of Mimosa pudica and nalta jute and why this herbs are a great alternative.
9. What is the essence of your proposed study?
The essence of our study is the used of Mimosa Pudica and Nalta jute, which are still unknown
when it comes to hair care, and utilize them to create a hair serum spray that is not harmful to
hair and is effective.
10. Who will be your respondents? Do you think they will cooperate?
As of now we consider testing the products ourselves first for us to be able to experience it
firsthand. We wanted to experience the effects it can bring to our hair.
11. If approved, how many months would you take to conduct this study?
In conducting this study, it would take us approximately 2-3 months to test and see it’s effect
properly.
