Review of Related Literature and Studies

This section contains related literature obtained from a variety of sources

and judged to be relevant to the current subject. These articles and publications

contributed to the study's conceptualization and interpretation of data.

Aloe (Aloe Vera); Shampoo; Production. According to Garcia, M. H.,

Juarez, J. A. T. & Jimenez, A. D. (2019). Aloe is a succulent plant belonging to

the Liliaceous family, related to onions, garlic, asparagus, tulips, lilies and

hyacinths (Machado Inca, 2013). It is a personal hygiene product that is

formulated based surfactants accompanied by other substances that

contribute to generate an emulsifying, foaming, moisturizing and mainly

cleaning properties that have as objective to eliminate whitish or yellowish

7
residues from the fat that produces the glandules sweat. Is a product used for

cleansing of the scalp and hair or preparation made mainly of surfactants,

conditioners and foaming agents (together or separately) whose primary action

is clean and remove from the scalp the excess fat and accumulated particles.

The effects of aloe vera to our hair. Studied by  Sara Perkins, MD (2020).

Aloe vera is a plant with thick leaves that contain a gel-like material. It can be

found all across the world, and many people grow it themselves. When applied

to the skin, aloe vera gel is cooling and soothing, which is why it's occasionally

used to treat burns and skin sores. While there is no clinical proof to back this

up, most people find aloe vera to be safe and useful. The raw gel of the plant is

the greatest type of aloe vera to apply on your hair. This gel can be purchased at

practically any drugstore or made from freshly cut leaves from a live plant if you

have one. The gel is transparent and slightly watery in appearance. Aloe vera

can be used to condition and improve damaged, dry hair by massaging it into

your scalp and hair and allowing it to penetrate your hair shafts. Rinse the gel off

after an hour with a gentle shampoo.

A double-blind, placebo-controlled trial of an Aloe vera (A.

barbadensis) emulsion in the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis. In the study of

Vardy, D., Cohen, A., Tchetov, T., Medvedovsky, E., and Biton, A. (2009). found

that treatment with aloe vera resulted in a significant reduction in itchiness,

scaliness, and the size of the area affected by SD. Since SD can, in some cases,

lead to temporary hair loss, this is one clear use of aloe vera for hair growth.

8
Also, there is speculation that since aloe vera contributes to a healthy scalp,

which is important for healthy hair growth, this bolsters arguments about aloe

vera’s effectiveness in hair care.

A Study on Scalp Hair Health and Hair Care Practices among Malaysian

Medical Students. According to Nayak, B. S., Chua, Y. A., Azhar, A. B., Su Ling, E.

C., Yen, W, H., and Aithal, P, A. (2017). Some people apply coconut oil to their

hair to increase shine and protect it from damage. It may penetrate the scalp

better than mineral oils. However, one study of people with similar hair types

found no difference in hair condition between those who used coconut oil and

those who did not.Scalp care is essential because it determines the health and

condition of the hair and prevents the diseases of scalp and hair. Hair

morphology studies may be considered as one line of evidence in answering few

forensic and archaeological questions. Results indicate that there exist

morphological differences in hair among the studied population. Therefore,

researchers should be encouraged to conduct similar studies for different ethnic

groups living in different parts of the world. Students should also be educated

regarding best hair care practices to improve their scalp hair condition and

health.

Use coconut oil to prevent hair loss. According to [Cyrus, A.?](2018). Hair

loss can be caused due to several reasons like stress, vitamin deficiency,

hormonal changes, heredity, poor nutrition or any underlying medical conditions.

9
There are different types of hair loss like male-pattern baldness, female pattern

baldness, anagen effluvium, telogen efflium and alopecia aretra. Whichever

pattern of hair loss you are experiencing, it can be controlled or completely

treated by following proper diet, reducing stress and changing lifestyle

habits. This may take some time to show you results. So, in the meanwhile you

can try natural remedies to control the hair loss and encourage new hair growth.

Out of all those ingredients that are beneficial for hair loss, coconut oil is the

best choice. It is an umbrella of good things that nourish your hair and prevent

hair loss.

The effects of coconut oil to our hair. Studied by Helen West, RD (2021).

Coconut oil has been demonstrated to prevent protein loss more than sunflower

and mineral oils when applied to hair before washing. Coconut oil is frequently

recommended as the best oil to use on your hair to prevent protein loss and

keep it looking healthy. Given the present popularity of coconut oil, this could be

dismissed as a fad. When your hair is wet, it is most sensitive to harm. Oiling

your hair both before and after washing it helps to prevent it from damage. More

research is needed to see if coconut oil can help get rid of lice, protect your hair

from the sun, and minimize dandruff. However, too much coconut oil might

cause your hair to get greasy. It normally doesn't result in hair loss, but it can

make previously separated hair fall out more quickly.

Research Methodology

Preparation

The researchers will utilize about one Aloe Vera Leaf and one bottle of

coconut oil as their materials. To ground the Aloe Vera as finely as feasible, a

mixer or grinder was utilized. The two components were well mixed and

dissolved in a pan. The aloe vera that had not dissolved was removed using a

strainer. A measuring spoon was used to measure out the ingredients. The

ingredients were mixed in a mixing basin using a spoon. Finally, strain it and

store it in a bottle until it has cooled.

Experimentation

Step 1: Cut the sharp thorns from the sides of the aloe vera plant's leaf.

Step 2: Scoop out the aloe vera gel by cutting open the lead from the top.

Step 3: Add the aloe vera pulp to a mixer grinder.

Step 4: Remove and set aside the crushed aloe vera. (If you don't have an aloe

vera plant, you can get natural aloe vera gel at the store.)

Step 5: Combine coconut oil and crushed aloe vera in a pan. Continue to stir.

Step 6: The oil will gradually become brown.

Step 7: Allow the oil to cool before straining. Keep the bottle dry
