Analytical Essay

Women have never been considering equal compared to men. This has its very root in our
culture, especially as Africans. Women are seen as those who should be responsible for the
house, the kids and their husband. They are denied access to the most important official jobs
under the assumption they cannot cope with them. Domestic and sexual violence as well as
child marriage also constitute the main challenges faced by women. This arguably can also be
put down to fact that women do not enjoy the privilege position in much the say way as men.

The argumentative essay goes around two main issue; gender-based inequality and women’s
rights abuses. It was produced taking into account several important step when writing an
essay. First, I started choosing the topic under the instructions already provided. Then, I went
on reading many articles to get my head round of as much information as possible. I started
drawing out an outline of questions around the two topics above mentioned, and after I
produced the thesis statements, I laid out the antithesis as well as the case against it, some of
the important parts of an argumentative texts. After I finished and I submit it to peer review.

The peer review was important as my classmates brought forth constructive remarks, some of
which include repetition of some ideas, as well as clarity and simplicity. They suggest I
should be precise and therefore I made some changes in this regard. However, some of the
regards I did not consider.

During the peer review, it was argued that the part in which I explain arranged marriage
should be taken out. I brought up that explanatory part to under the assumption that some
readers may be unfamiliar as to what arranged marriage is, but on second thoughts, I decided
to take it out as it is redundant. The first paragraph introduces the topic and thesis statement
along with some arguments as to how boys and girls are brought up. The second makes
reference to women facing discriminatory as a result of such cultural environment we are
raised. The third refers to other forms discrimination women face. The forth is mainly
focused on human rights abuses women undergo and introduce counter arguments. The next
paragraph follows introducing the main antithesis against women's rights, and my position
against it. The last I carried on backing up my thesis with arguments, laying out what position
a woman should be hold in our culture. The last sentence is aimed at summing up and taking
the readers back to what constitute the main issue, in that readers often lose track of the thesis
statement due the fact that the author somehow deviates from the actual issue due to the
complexity of topics.
