A. Answer the following questions.

1. What are the program components of the NSTP?

Answer: The Three Program Components of the NSTP or National Service
Training Program are: CWTS or Civic Welfare Training Services; LTS or
Literacy Training Services; and ROTC or Reserve Officers Training Corps.

2. Who is responsible in supervising the students undergoing the NSTP?

Answer: In this course description which is the National Service Training
Program or NSTP, the head or coordinator of the NSTP shall coordinate
to all NSTP instructors or instructresses regarding the supervision of the
students who are undergoing this subject matter especially the students
who will take the NSTP – 2 which is the Culminating Program in which
he students shall undergo trainings in respective components like for
example the CWTS or Civic Welfare Training Service, the students shall
undergo tree planting, mangrove planting and the other stuff. In order to
graduate the students under the NSTP, the instructor or instructress
shall supervise the students to submit all the requirements in order to
pass this course. In general, in order to ascertain whether the training is
being provided in accordance with the goals of this Act, the CHED and
TESDA regional offices shall supervise and monitor the NSTP's
implementation within their respective jurisdictions. The CHED, TESDA,
and DND shall receive periodic reports in this respect. Since we are the
Civic Welfare Training Service Students of ZPPSU, the CHED and TESDA
shall supervise the head or the coordinator of the NSTP to all NSTP
Instructors or Instructresses then followed by the students in a
downward communication way. Unlike Reserve Officers Training Corps,
the CHED and DND shall coordinate the said mentioned above.

3. What are the functions of the National Service Reserve Corps (NSRC)?
Answer: The National Service Reserve Corps or NSRC has something to
so with the function to all students who are enrolled in National Service
Training Program or the NSTP. First is to assist or coordinate with the
disaster preparedness against the natural disasters such as typhoons,
floods, and etc. or man-made disasters such as illegal mining,
deforestation, and etc.; Second is to assist or coordinate with the
mitigation against serious injuries; Third is to assist or coordinate with
the response and rehabilitation programs because whenever there is a
disaster coming whether if it is expected or unexpected, natural or man-
made, or other things, the students should be responsive in all disaster
events to prepare the things that they need to do and the students
should undergo training as to how to rehabilitate from the places where
they have been destroyed or devastated by the natural or man-made
disasters in order to start a rehabilitation process such as tree planting,
mangrove planting, outreach program, building the houses, and other
rehabilitation activities that the students should do at all times. In terms
of Civic Welfare Training Services, the head or coordinator of the NSTP
shall assist or coordinate the promotion of the CWTS Activities as what I
have mention regarding the activities under rehabilitation process or
activities. Another is, to assist or to coordinate with the students
regarding the socio-economic status of each individual by conducting the
socio-economic development not just in our society but the whole
country as well; to respond the students in case of emergency such as
typhoons, heavy rainfall showers, and etc. and as well as the concern of
the class suspension of the students; to assist or coordinate the students
when it comes to the protection of the environment against deforestation,
water pollution, and etc.; and other activities that is being supervised by
the higher DRRM Authorities.

4. What are the important points of the NSTP IRR?

Answer: For me, the NSTP IRR or National Service Training Program
Implementation Rules and Regulation objective is to maximize the young
participation or the students towards the nation-building especially if
there is an activity that they need to participate such as Seminars,
Webinars, Culminating Program, and the other stuff. Therefore, the
National Service Training Program IRR tries to incentivize the young
people or students to join the military services in case of Reserve Officers
Training Corps; become civic leaders by joining the activities such as tree
planting, mangrove planting, outreach program, and etc.; and/or serve
in other volunteer capacities that could make them available to the
country in times of need such as the students who are under Supreme
Student Council Society of the Philippines that was being organized by
the Philippine Action Force or PAF. The National Service Training
Program aims to foster youth consciousness or student awareness, raise
awareness among young people or students against the natural or man-
made disasters, and maximize their physical, moral, spiritual,
intellectual, and social wellbeing of the students even also the female
students since they are now allowed to take part of the program and they
are also an obligation to serve their country in terms of caring the
environment, self-discipline, and the other stuff. It will foster nationalism
and patriotism in young people or students and increase their
involvement in public affairs especially the students who are taking part
of other organizations such as SSCSP, SK Officers, and etc. Overall, the
NSTP IRR is to aware of the students especially the unexpected events
that they will come; to maximize the participation of the students by
joining the culminating program as part of the requirements in order to
pass the subject; to overcome the students when it comes to mental
health awareness; to overcome the students’ low self-esteem when it
comes to participating the activities, and the other stuff.
