The National Service Training Program (NSTP) Slab has been a huge factor for the community
services among the students of the Mapua University, NSTP Slab includes Education, Environment,
Recreation, and Awareness. First, education slab, is an academic factor of the University that helps the
students and teachers to spread the teachings and learnings they have gathered among a community.
This is achieved with the use of trainings, seminars, and workshops. With this type of slap, it would help
the community to improve their intellectual thinking and decisions. Second, environment slab,
environmental issues in the country has been an alarming factor because of its increasing rate of
diseases. Therefore, the university introduced this type of slab with a solution of prevention among
students and teachers such as cleanliness and orderliness within the university by the help of the
maintenance and the security of the university. Because with this slab, this would develop a clean and
safe environment, but also, a healthy community at the university. Third, recreation slab, it’s a very
useful factor for the students to use in their leisure time. Because this would make the students to be
more productive, and at the same time, creating a strong teamwork in such activities. Also, these
relevant activities are in related to school wherein the students wouldn’t just enjoy, but he/she will also
learn. And lastly, awareness slab, this is to assess a certain issues and problems. Educate a community
on how to avoid such issues by teaching them a well-informed topic and process of what would be the
solutions on such issues.

On the other hand, SDS, the students work in a community that features health services. SDS
components include first, the Engineering and Health Support and Delivery System, the students work
for a simple plans and projects dependent on their courses and specializations that will benefit the
target community. Second, the Learning Support and Delivery System, this component aims to help the
youths and adults to continue or finish their education. This is done with the aid of institutional support
materials such as the basic mathematics, literacy skills, and sciences tutorials. With this component, the
participated people of the program will benefit and gain skills that can be used in their everyday lives.
And lastly, the Socio-Civic Support and Delivery System, this aims to develop the community surveying
skills of the students in terms of socio-civic programs such as profiling and project development about
relevant issues.
