Background of the Study Technological

devices such as mobile cellular became a huge part of many children and adolescents. the

pandemic because of coronavirus disease A.K.A. COVID-19 occurred at a time of

outstanding scientific progress and global digitalization which resulted in educational

changes such as the shifting of the learning environment. Teaching and learning activities

have always been taking place in a formal environment, now that Covid 19 Pandemic has

risen, face-to-face interactions have become a teaching or learning that is undertaken

remotely on digital platforms (Lalani et al, 2020). It led students to spend more time at

home with major use of technological devices. So, the usage of mobile phones increased

over time. According to the statistics of Statista (2022) that 72.1% of the Philippines are

mobile cellular users, which increases as the year goes on. So in this study, we ought to

know the percentage usage of the SCPF students with their mobile cellular before and

during face-to-face classes.

Reasons why we chose this topic:

• It caters our program's interest which is the ICT.

• We can be able to provide information about the percentage usage of mobile phones

before and during f2f of SPCF students.

• To know what to change with the learning system and the effect of both learning

systems on the accessibility of students.

Significance of the Study

The findings of this study will benefit the following;

• The researchers

This study will give crucial information that will guide the researchers in discovering

credible and reliable factors. Indeed, this study will be a source of enlightenment for their

future studies.

• Information and Communication Technology (ICT)

By accomplishing this study,

it would give the Information Communication Technology a huge assist knowing that one

of their duties is to attain some data regarding the percentage usage of students in their

mobile cellular as online access for learning.

• Department of Education.

Since our study will include students, this would be a benefit by knowing the percentage

usage of mobile cellular before and during face-to-face classes. Not only that, but it could

also be a step of adjustment for improving a learning system.

•Student’s Parents.

Parents with SPCF students will also benefit from this study since they can assure the

quality of education their child is getting from the financial amount they invest in their

chosen school.
