Introduce Yourself.

Answer: I am from a small town called Gachiroli. I have spent most of my childhood years there.
Gachibowli, a place basically known for as a Naxal base, is abundant in nature. Though famous as a
Naxal place, believe me, in my 10 years of stay, I never encountered with any of those Naxalites. It’s
basically because they are majorly active in the interior part of the district. Later I moved to Nagpur
where I completed my Higher Secondary Certificate and then to Pune for my graduation.

I have always followed the philosophy of ‘Live and Let Live’ because I always believed that we should
be aware of our boundaries. Following the same, I have learnt when and where to speak. So,
basically, I purposefully don’t interfere into others’ matters. But this doesn’t mean that I ignore
things around me. I have bunch of really close friends who approach me whenever they want
because they are aware of the fact that I will be there for them, maybe at times as a problem solver.

As a person you will find me kind of a funny person and people really get comfortable around me. I
have heard many say that they don’t believe that they have met me for the first time. It’s as if they
have known me for years even if we have meet for the first time this morning. I believe in speaking
truth and that is why I have always been honest with everyone. That is the thing people usually like
about me. The quality of being honest.

One thing I would like to specially mention is, that my parents mean a lot to me. They have always
supported me in all my decisions. There are times when I feel low, uncomfortable, angry, anxious
and so on, but my parents know very well how to bring me back to normal. I know we approach our
friends under such situations but it is not necessary that they are always available. Our parents are
the ones who are always there for us. They always have time to listen to us. I share a special bond
with my parents, a bond of friendship. I know they will always back me up under any circumstances.

Why MBA?

I have completed my graduation in Civil Engineering, and I have worked as an Intern. Most of
my work included supervising various constructions at the site. For this, I had to communicate with
many field engineers that required crisp and clear communication. I think MBA is a program that
would help me enhance those skills that need proper communication, leadership qualities, and
confidence in any work. I feel MBA would help me grow in respect of my career opportunities.

Also, my main objective to shift from engineering to MBA was to broaden my career opportunities.
As an engineer, I always focused on the technical field that I specialized in. I thought of pursuing
MBA so that I could move to the new sector and work with some new profiles, which would help me
explore new areas in management and help me know better about my interests.

MBA would significantly help me grow my skills related to my professional life and, to some extent,
my personal life. Skills like leadership qualities, managerial skills, proper communication, human
resources management, time management, etc. So, there is a lot of value addition that can be done
by pursuing an MBA as per the career perspectives. Other skills that will help me in my career
include problem-solving since there are different issues that we face while working as a manager or
in any different role. Hence, I can say that it would help me to mold my personality for any job
requirement. MBA will enable me to develop my character inside out.

Also, another reason to do the MBA is my sister. She got the degree form JBIMS last year. And now
she works for Accenture Strategy. My sister was very shy person. She used to talk very little. But
when she graduated JBIMS, the change in her personality was very drastic. She was like the
confident person who can silence anyone she wants and that’s what struck me that MBA will help
my personality to grow and will help my confidence level as well.

Mention your 5 Strengths and Weaknesses.

Strengths:

1. As mentioned, before I am good in communicating with people. And this skill has helped me
in making many friends. As Civil engineer, it is very important to communicate properly as
slight deviation in my instructions can lead to destroying an asset or human life as well.
2. I am patient and a good listener. This has helped me in team building and also in leading the
team very efficiently as I was considerate about everyone's opinions and regards. I got many
opportunities to show my leadership qualities during college.
3. I have an optimistic approach towards the work I do. This helps me build confidence and
improves my willpower.
4. I have always been efficient in the jobs that I have done. I am dedicated towards my work
and believe in smart work. I have performed all my duties in an effective manner.
5. Team Player

Weakness:

1. I am quite sensitive and emotional as a person. As mentioned, I have to communicate with

people working on site and there are times when these workers or operators have to face
the inclement weather. Hence to save their time I had to bend some rules (obviously
considering their proper safety)
2. I am very particular in being thorough. And because of that I expect others to be as thorough
as well and that sometimes annoys the other person.
3. …

Justify your Gap.

The reason for doing the civil engineering was to prepare for the government job such as UPSE or
engineering services or GATE. And for the last three years I have been preparing for that but due to
various circumstances and reasons I could not achieve these goals. My parents really wanted me to
have the government job and they are still very supportive about it. But those examinations take
time and lot of preparations that I do not have time or interest for. I asked for advise from various
people and many of them suggested me to do MS and go abroad or go for MBA. I have given CAT
last year and also got selected for IIM Ranchi but due to some document problem I wasn’t able to
take the admission. I wanted to do job after that but my dad encouraged me to give one last try for
MBA and here I am.
