Good morning students (Good morning teacher). How are you today? (I am good
teacher). Very good! Okay, now I will show you a chart. This is called an incentive chart.
Throughout our lesson for today, you will earn stars once you’ve got correct answers and the
stars that you have earned at the end of the lesson can be seen in the chart. Alright! Are you now
ready to learn kids? (Yes teacher). Let’s start.
1. REVIEW
Before we proceed, let’s have a short recap about our lesson yesterday. Can anyone tell me
what was our lesson yesterday? (About the noun, teacher). Correct! Our lesson yesterday is about
the noun. Now, what is a noun? (It is a naming word that refers to a person, place, thing, or
animal). Correct! Now, to further determine how well do you know and understand the lesson
yesterday, let’s try to find out by doing an activity. All you need to do is to answer the question
by choosing the right answers from the selection. You will be given 5 seconds to answer the
question and tell me what your answer is. Are you ready kids? (Yes teacher) If you are ready say,
“I am ready, ready-ing ready!” (I am ready, ready-ing ready!) Alright! Let’s start.
1. Which of the following is a name of a person?
A. Cat
B. Father
C. Chair
2. MOTIVATION
Now let’s have an energizer game before we proceed to our lesson for today. The game is
called “I can see, I can match”. I will show you some pictures and all you need to do is observe
the picture and tell what you can observe about it. Listen and watch attentively. Are you ready
kids? (I am ready, ready-ing ready!) Alright! Let’s begin.
(Picture 1) (Picture 2)
Let’s explore the nouns city, this place is full of names. The picture that you can see is the
first barangay of the noun city. Can you tell me what are the nouns that you can observe in this
barangay? (Yes, teacher. There is a car, hospital, and bakery). What else? (A boy and a shoe)
That’s right! We can observe nouns like car, hospital, bakery, boy, and a shoe in the first
barangay of the noun city. Now let’s proceed to the next picture.
This is the second barangay of the noun city. Can you tell me what are the nouns that you can
observe in this barangay? (Yes, teacher. There is a Toyota Car, Ciudad Hospital, and a boy
named Tom). What else can you see? (Julie’s Bakeshop and Nike Shoes) Very good! We can
observe nouns like Toyota Car, Ciudad Hospital, Julie’s Bakeshop, Tom and Nike Shoes in the
second barangay of the noun city. Now let’s list down the nouns that we have observed in the
first and second barangay with the use of a column. Write the nouns from the first barangay in
the column A, and column B is for the nouns from the second barangay.
This two colums of nouns have other terms. What are they? Do you like to find out?
(Yes, teacher). Alright! To Find that out, let’s proceed to our lesson.
B. LESSON PROPER
1. PRESENTATION
Students, I have here a poem, I want you to listen and observe carefully. (Yes teacher)
very good! And as I read every sentence of the poem, you will repeat after me. Understand
students? (Yes teacher!)
Did you enjoy the poem? (Yes teacher!) very good students. So, what have you noticed on
the poem? There are underlined words. That's right. What do you call these underlined words?
(A noun) Yes, it is a noun because it names the person, place, thing, and event. Now listen
students, based on the given poem the first underlined words can be called in general or for all.
While the second underlined words are for specific or for one thing.
1. DISCUSSION
So now students, let us list the nouns mentioned in the poem. (girl, Anita, brother, Kuya Ben,
school, Bandera Elementary School, days, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday,
teacher, Lady Leila). Let’s take a look at the words as seen in the first column. What noun are
these? (Girl, brother, school, days, and teacher). Right, very good. We have special name for the
noun, what do you think it is? (Common nouns) how do these words in written? (In small
letters). Let’s take a look at the words or nouns in the second column. Do these words give
particular nouns of places, person, days? (yes) how do these words being written? (In big letters)
we have a special name for these particular names of person, place, things, animals. What do you
think is it? (Proper nouns) very good children!
Now from our activity earlier, what can you observed in the column A (the column A are
common nouns) very good! Why do you think it is a common noun? (Because it does not specify
a person, place, animal and things and it start with small letters) very good! How about the
column B? (It is a proper noun) why do you think it is a proper noun? (Because it starts with big
letter and it specify a person, place, and thing) very good! My students are brilliant!

Based on our discussion, what are common nouns and proper nouns? (Proper nouns are
particular name of person, place, things, animals, or events, and common nouns are common
name of person, place, things, animals, or events) Very good, how do we write proper nouns?
(Proper nouns begin with big letter) How about Common noun? (Common nouns begin with
