INTRODUCTION:

• In this field work, I did a natural observation on

Venkateshwara bakery in Begur.
• In this bakery they are selling biscuits, tea, coffee
cigarettes, puffs, soft drinks, chips like lays,
Haldiram’s snacks etc.
• This bakery is placed at main junction near Sai
hospital
• This bakery was opens at 5AM and closes at
10:30PM.
• There are three family members are taking care of
the shop, and they are working in shift manner.
• The next coming slides will show what are the
observations have I done and what are problems
they are facing and the suggestions to overcome
the problems in future.
• LOCATION : Venkateshwara bakery, Vittasandra
Main road, Lakshmi Layout, Begur, Bengaluru,
Karnataka, 560068.
OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY:

• The main objective of this study is to find out how

many people come to this shop .
• Which age group people are visiting the shop and
what are the reason?
• Which product (bakery snacks) is selling most in a
day?
• To find out peak hours of the bakery .
OBSERVATION:

DAY 1 – October 17,2022:

• Number of customers : 20
• The most common item they bought: Milk, bread,
snacks.
• Age category : 15-40
• The breads and milk are bought for the patients
from the hospital.
Day 2 – October 20, 2022
• Number of customers: 25-35
• The most common item they bought: Milk, bread,
snacks, cigarettes.
• Age category: 25-50.
DAY 3 – October 23, 2022
• Number of customers: 40-70
• The most common item they bought: Tea, coffee,
cigarettes, icecreams.
• Age category: 20-50
DAY 4 – October 30, 2022
• Number of customers: 40-65
• The most common item they bought: Tea, coffee,
cigarettes, ice-creams.
• Age category: 20-50

The above data are taken at the evening time from

4:00PM to 7:00PM. The sales are increased when it is in
weekends only, because people are coming out with
friends and spending time in bakery.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEMS:

• Due to lot of people smoking outside the bakery, the

people who comes to the hospitals are feeling
uncomfortable.
• The Venkateshwara bakery is located next to the Sai
hospital, the cigarette smoke is polluting the hospital
• There is not enough space to the customers to sit
and eat
• There is no separate room for smoking.
• Comparing with the other bakeries they are
providing separate room for smoking and separate
space to sit and eat the snacks
• At lunch hours the customer visiting the
Venkateshwara bakery got reduced.
• The garbage provided by the bakery is not in closed
condition, its always in open condition, so the flies
are gets surrounded and creating unhygienic
environment.
SUGGESTIONS:

• Its better to add more closed garbage to overcome

unhygienic environment.
• If they built any small rooms for smoking area its
good and it’s better not to built near the hospital
• The wastage of vegetable puffs got increased when
compared to egg puffs, its better to make the puffs
in limited numbers according to the weekends.
CONCLUSION:

The observation study is done for getting knowledge on

how many people are visiting the Venkateshwara in
different timings. People in this locality need more
hygiene bakeries, it’s better to increase the hygiene in the
environment, especially when hospitals present next to the
bakery. In the above sections, there are some suggestions
to improve the hygiene and how to use the resource in the
bakery without wasting and using efficiently with the help
of weekend days.
