SELF-DISCIPLINE

Self-Discipline means having control over oneself; it provides self-control overreactions, actions, and
oneself and boosts a person’s inner strength. Self- Discipline is the most important skill a person should
possess. One of the main attributes of Self-Discipline is its ability to abdicate immediate pleasure and
gratification.

Self-Discipline does not necessarily mean to live a controlled or restrictive lifestyle, but to have control
over oneself. It gives a person the power to make the right decisions, despite temptations, and achieve
goals. Furthermore, the skill manifests as inner strength leading to strong willpower and overcoming
procrastination, laziness, addictions, and overeating.

Thus, Self-discipline is a skill that leads one to achieve success.

Self-Discipline is the ability to control and avoid unhealthy habits or excess that could create a negative
impact. A self-disciplined person rejects any immediate pleasure or gratifications that favors more
significant pain but requires time and effort to mold the skill.

The possession of Self-Discipline enables an individual to choose the right decisions, and maintain their
thoughts, behavior, and actions, to attain success and improvement. Every person needs to possess the
skill of self-discipline. Self-Discipline strengthens those who acknowledge it and yet only a few put
efforts to develop it.
PARENTAL SUPPORT

Parents are their first educators, the majority of what a child learns in the first few years of their life is
taught by their parents. It is only when the child starts to attend an early years setting that they start to
learn from another educator. Both parents and teachers continue being a major influence on their
children's learning all throughout school and for the rest of their lives.

The parents and the child's school both have important roles to play in the child's education and should
therefore work together as a team. Parents can get involved in many different ways such as; getting
involved with the school itself by helping in the classroom or supervising lunch and break times,

or for those parents who work in the day and cannot find the time to help at the school they can get
involved by; reading to their child at home, assisting with homework and other learning activities,
teaching them songs or nursery rhymes and letting them help with everyday tasks like cooking, baking
and chores. This can be categorised as: Involvement of parents in the school life or involvement of
parents in supporting the individual child at home.
EXPERIENCED TEACHER

Teaching experience is positively associated with student achievement gains throughout a

teacher’s career.
As teachers gain experience, their students are more likely to do better on other measures of
success beyond test scores, such as school attendance.
Teachers make greater gains in their effectiveness when they teach in a supportive and collegial
working environment, or accumulate experience in the same grade level, subject, or district.
More experienced teachers confer benefits to their colleagues, their students, and the school
as a whole.
These conclusions suggest that policymakers should support policies and investments that
advance the ongoing development and professional growth of an experienced teaching
workforce and increase the retention of experienced and
effective teachers.
Advantages of Peer Pressure
Peer pressure is advantageous in many ways. Most importantly it creates a sense of motivation
in the person. Which further forces the person to cross the barrier and achieve something
great. Furthermore, it boosts the confidence of a person. Because our brain considers people’s
opinions and makes them a priority.

Many salesmen and Entrepreneurs use this technique to influence people to buy their products.
Whenever we are in a social meet we always get various recommendations. Therefore when a
person gets these recommendations the brain already starts liking it. Or it creates a better
image of that thing. This forces the person to buy the product or at least consider it.

This peer pressure technique also works in creating a better character of a person. For instance,
when we recommend someone for a particular job, the interviewer already gets a better image
of that person. Because he is recommended by a person the interviewer trusts. Therefore there
is a great chance of that person to get hired.

Above all the main advantage of peer pressure can be in youth. If a young person gets
influenced by an individual or a group of people. He can achieve greater heights in his career.

Disadvantages of Peer Pressure

There are various disadvantages of peer pressure which can harm a person in many ways. If any
person is not willing to perform a task then the peer pressure can be frustrating to him.

Furthermore, peer pressure should not be in an excessive manner. Because it lands a negative
impact on the person. A person should be of the mindset of listening to himself first. While
considering opinions in favor of him.

Peer pressure in youth from a bad company can lead a person to a nasty situation.
Furthermore, it can also hamper a student’s career and studies if not averted. Youth these days
are much influenced by the glamorous life of celebrities.
And since they follow them so much, these people become their peers. Thus they do such
things that they should not. Drugs and smoking are major examples of this. Moreover most
shocking is that the minors are even doing these things. This can have adverse effects on their
growth and career.

It is necessary to judge the outcome of a deed before getting influenced by peers. Furthermore,
peer pressure should always be secondary. Your own thoughts and wants should always have
the first priority.
