Introduction
An annotation is a personal note added to a text to provide explanation about it. Moreover, it
can be a criticism, summary, analysis, or even realizations about a particular topic that has been
read. Usually, the annotations are compiled together with a list of sources and citations derived
from books, periodicals, journal articles, and other works. This list of sources and citations with
a summary, evaluation, or analysis of readings is known as the annotated bibliography.
By practice, the annotated bibliography is considered as one of the important tools used in
academic and research writing. With the annotated bibliography, the researchers will be able to
identify and compare different perspectives about a certain topic. There is no single
standardized form and style of annotated bibliography template. The template varies and
depends on the requirements of the institutions, colleges, and universities.
In this activity, you will write annotations of your readings based on your working and chosen
research topic. Furthermore, you will create an annotated bibliography of all the sources and
citations related to your research topic.
