WHAT IS IMPORTANCE OF BUILDING AND MAINTAINING
RELATIONSHIP
The first and the foremost importance of a healthy relationship is that it leads to mental peace
and also a positive ambience at the workplace. One tends to enjoy his/her work if he/she has
people around whom he can trust.

If you were required to work alone, I assure you that your task would become nothing more
than a hardship. We are not machines that must operate continuously for eight to nine hours.
We require conversation partners nearby. It's important to surround yourself with dependable
people that you can be completely honest with. It's true to say that our coworkers are a
member of our larger family.

When necessary, your team members can also provide you with the appropriate criticism and
suggestions. If you want to advance in your career, sharing knowledge is crucial. Don't forget
that you will receive something in exchange if you share something with a team member.
Ruining connections with those close to you is unwise. I assure you there is no gain. Even if
you have made the decision to quit the company and move on with your life, never argue
with your coworkers, supervisors, or subordinates. You never know when you might
eventually need the other person. Be friendly with everyone.

Stress is brought on by pointless disputes and misunderstandings. When under stress, a

person is never able to perform at their highest level. In addition to impairing concentration,
stress has negative effects on your well-being and peace of mind. Be a little more diplomatic.

IMPORTANCE OF BUILDING AND MAINTAINING RELATIONSHIP

FOR ECONOMY

In a Relationship Economy, the primary currency is made up of the connections and trust
among customers, employees, and vendors who create significantly more value in what we
sell. These relationships and connections help make price irrelevant.

The Relationship Economy is about building a culture that recognizes the importance of each
individual and of making everyone a part of a community that is working toward something
bigger -- a community that makes them feel cared for.
The Relationship Economy is how strongly you feel about the people and businesses in your
life. Relationships are the biggest differentiator in customer and brand loyalty. Relationships
are at the center of all we do.

You need to make your entire organization "relationship-centric" from the inside out.
Customers don't recommend businesses they like; they recommend businesses
they love. When you accomplish that, you make yourself and your brand competitor-proof
and irreplaceable.

IMPORTANCE OF BUILDING AND MAINTAINING RELATIONSHIP

FOR ORGANIZATION
People are by nature sociable animals. Furthermore, it seems to reason that having positive
working connections with our coworkers will make our jobs more enjoyable given that we
spend one-third of our lives at work.

Coworkers will feel more confidence speaking their thoughts, participating in brainstorming
sessions, and supporting new ideas, for example, if they feel more at ease around one another.
To embrace change, to create, and to innovate, this level of teamwork is necessary.
Additionally, organizational morale and productivity rise when individuals perceive the
benefits of cooperating in this way.

Freedom comes from having good working relationships. You can concentrate on
opportunities instead of unpleasant connections by focusing on your personal development or
winning new business.
Additionally, having a strong professional network will aid in your career advancement by
presenting you with possibilities that you may otherwise miss.

When you build strong relationships with your coworkers, you’re helping to encourage an
open and collaborative environment for everyone on the team. This often leads to higher
morale, which promotes productivity and more effective communication. Also, you may find
that good relationships with your coworkers simply improves your work experience in
general. Lower stress levels and greater enjoyment of your work can benefit everyone on
your team.
RESPONSIBILITIES UNDER BUILDING AND MAINTAINING
RELATIONSHIP
1. Develop trust with your colleagues

Be accountable for your work deadlines and responsibilities. By making fair and sincere
pledges, you can build confidence with and among colleagues. If you are unable to fulfil your
duties on time, please apologize and make every effort to discover a workaround. You may
show that you are a trustworthy and responsible person by taking these actions.People are
more likely to respect your experience, judgment, and ideas when they have faith in you.
Your career will benefit greatly from your commitment to hard effort, honesty, and a positive
professional attitude. These qualities will also enable you to succeed in any new position.
Coworkers are more inclined to share ideas and make useful suggestions during meetings if
they trust one another.

2. Maintain Consistent Communication

Daily contact, whether it be online or in person, is important for building strong relationships.
Open and honest communication can help to resolve many interpersonal issues at work. Make
sure to engage in meaningful conversation and pay close attention to other people's
viewpoints if you want to have a good relationship. As you converse with the other person,
you can level the discussion and pay attention to crucial nonverbal communication cues.

3. Show Appreciation And Respect For Others

A strong basis of any successful partnership is respect. People recognise and value
mindfulness, and it generally improves professional environments. Be understanding and
accepting of everyone in a group. By praising, supporting, and acknowledging your
coworkers' contributions, you can foster a positive work atmosphere.

Since everyone has a unique perspective, accepting other points of view in the workplace can
help you stay upbeat and open-minded. Respecting those you work with entails appreciating
their opinions and viewpoints. This will facilitate productive and innovative working
relationships that are advantageous to both you and your coworkers, which will promote a
range of viewpoints and fresh debates.
4. Speak Well Of Your Team Member

Try your best to always be complimentary while talking about coworkers. In the office,
rumors have a tendency to spread quickly, but compliments that you give to others can do the
same. Praise for others might help you become known as a team player who is upbeat and
encouraging. It will be significantly more fruitful to talk to your coworker privately and
attempt a peaceful resolution if you have a problem with them.

5. Be Positive

Keeping a positive outlook toward your coworkers is essential to developing successful

connections. When team members are sure that they are a part of a team, they often feel more
motivated and satisfied at work. This influences an employee's motivation to remain on the
team and helps carry out the assigned tasks.

Positive attitudes and maintaining a pleasant mood at work are more frequent in people who
get along with one another and feel comfortable around them. When surrounded by contented
and comfortable coworkers, people perform better. Whenever a colleague achieves a goal,
congratulate them. Such actions can build stronger bonds between you and your coworkers
by demonstrating your appreciation for them.
BENEFITS OF BUILDING AND MAINTAINING RELATIONSHIP

1. It Improves Collaboration
When working on a project together, coworkers who get along well with one another are
more likely to produce quality work. Respected coworkers can inspire you to work at the top
of your game, and open lines of communication can make all of your tasks run more
smoothly. When team members collaborate, there is often less uncertainty in communication
and everyone is more certain of exactly what their individual responsibilities are.

2. It Improves The Individual Productivity

Positivity in the workplace not only increases team productivity by ensuring that members
communicate well, but it also enhances individual productivity and job-related abilities.
People who love working with their coworkers tend to put in more effort both consciously
and unconsciously because they like where they are right now and want to see their firm
succeed in the future.

3 .It Improves Employee Morale

Employees' total productivity is frequently correlated with their psychological well-being.
Your morale can be raised by having good relationships with the people you spend several
hours with each workday, which can help you perform better on the job.

4. It Improves Employee Retention Rates

Given that everyone is acclimated to their coworkers' professional demeanors and working
habits, teams that keep their essential members typically provide better long-term outcomes.
Because they are pleased professionally and because it may be challenging to rebuild the
personal relationships they have with their coworkers elsewhere, employees who have a
sense of belonging to the company and to each other are less likely to look for job elsewhere.

5. It Leads To Transfer Of Skills And Knowledge

If a team's senior and junior members get along well with one another, that team is more
likely to produce successful long-term outcomes. The more experienced workers and the less
experienced ones can share talents in collaborative team environments. In the end, both the
company and the employees may gain from this.
6. It Improves Your Health

While social isolation is often linked to a higher risk of developing major health conditions,
having good social support is widely viewed as being an important element for physical
health. Positivity and social connection at work can support your physical and emotional
wellbeing, even though this holds true for your personal life as well.

TYPES OF BUILDING AND MAINTAINING RELATIONSHIP

While some believe relationship building is one singular type of tasks, there are many
subcategories within this skill. They all focus on allowing you to get closer to someone.
However, many key differences exist as well. Mainly, they center around who the other
individual is and what type of relationship you would like to build. Below, we have provided
a list of different relationship types.

1. NETWORKING

Networking is typically associated with building a professional relationship. The term

networking truly has a larger application than that. It refers to simply meeting new
individuals, regardless of their job. Networking can be done locally or via the web. Typically,
you sign up for broad networking events in advance. You will likely not know who is
attending, as the focus is on meeting new people instead of acquaintances. You may tell
stories, recall your successes, understand the other person’s interests, and so on. Being a
successful networker involves capturing someone’s attention and being near-instantly likable.

2. LEADERSHIP

Leaders greatly benefit from relationship building. Every element of their job is improved if
they have strong customer and commercial relationships. Their team works better, customers
are more satisfied, and business opportunities increase. Once you develop a strong
relationship with your team, they will to you for advice and feedback. This is a sign of trust.
Leaders who are able to unite teams and motivate them are also great at building
relationships. If you can create a singular goal that gets a group to work together
harmoniously, you can foster incredible relationships.

3. INFLUENCING
Influencers have a much greater reach than just impacting social media. Influencing reaches
beyond the web and into the physical world. The task of influencing involves selling or
convincing individuals to have certain views, buy a product, or change their mind on
something. One common way individuals influence others is by showing exemplary
behavior. By influencing your team through your relationships, you build stronger bonds. If
your team values your opinion and is influenced by your behavior, they are more likely to
copy your actions and uphold company values.

4. SALES

If you wish to have a strong customer base, you must master the art of relationship building.
Rapport and trust are necessary to get a customer to invest in your company or buy a product.
The second step of the sales pipeline, after grabbing the customer’s attention, is to convince
them to believe in your mission. If they are aligned with your values and understand the
usefulness of your product, they are likely to purchase it. Customer relation building involves
understanding their point of view: what they like, their values, needs, and motivations.

5. CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP

While sales involves the initial steps of customer acquisition, customer relationship building
is far more long term. The customers who are truly invested in your brand are likely to be
repeat buyers and are likely to recommend your company. In other words, customer relations
are all about sustainability. Being honest, actively listening, and caring about the customer’s
needs all lead to stronger customer relationships. Indeed, customer often have a relationship
with more than just your staff. They may even associate themselves with your brand. They
may align their values with yours, so that they consistently refer others to your company
instead of competitors.

6. PARTNER RELATIONSHIP

In business, you cannot perform everything by yourself. If you wear too many hats, you
cannot perform every task to the best of your ability. This is why having great partner
relationships is important. Some businesses will have separate marketing, web development,
research, and supply partner. Unfortunately, some firms believe that being exceedingly tough
with partners is beneficial to their bottom line. They may view this tension and positive
pressure but are not interested in building long-term relationships and trust. On the other
hand, those that care about the long term are more likely to emphasize positive relationships
and provide their partner with honest feedback.
EXAMPLE OF IMPORTANCE OF BUILDING AND MAINTAINING
RELATIONSHIP

HOW DOES FLIPKART MAINTAIN THEIR RELATIONSHIP

As you step into the Customer Support Services office at Flipkart, you hear a clamor of
sounds. Some of these are serious voices of the Flipkart Customer Support members who are
addressing customer queries, some are jubilant joyous voices from having another customer
complaint resolved, and then, there is the intense silence of those who are patiently listening
to the customer.

Flipkart customers voice themselves loud and clear through the Customer Support Services
platform, airing grievances, demands and opinions. Every day, hundreds of Customer
Support team members handle customers’ complaints, queries and feedback with nuanced
care and understanding.
HOW AN BUILDING AND MAINTAINING RELATIONSHIP OUGHT
TO WORK

Building close connections with people can take time. But there are also steps you can take
today to get on better with your colleagues.

1. Identify Your Relationship Needs

Do you know what you need from others? And do you know what they need from you?
Understanding these needs can be instrumental in building better relationships.

2. Develop Your People Skills

Good relationships start with good people skills. Take our quiz How Good Are Your People
Skills? to test how well you collaborate, communicate, and deal with conflict. The quiz will
also point you toward useful tools to improve any weak areas.

3. Focus on Your EI
Emotional intelligence (EI) is your ability to recognize your own emotions, and better
understand what they're telling you. By developing your EI, you'll become more adept at
identifying and handling the emotions and needs of others.

4. Practice Mindful Listening

People respond better to those who truly listen to what they have to say. By practicing
mindful listening , you'll talk less and understand more. And you'll quickly become known as
trustworthy.

5. Schedule Time to Build Relationships

If possible, you could ask a colleague out for a quick cup of coffee. Or give a "one-minute
kindness" by commenting on a co-worker's LinkedIn post you enjoyed reading. These little
interactions take time but lay the groundwork for strong relationships.

6. Manage Your Boundaries

Make time, but not too much! Sometimes, a work relationship can impair productivity,
especially when a friend or colleague begins to monopolize your time. It's important to set
your boundaries and manage how much time you devote to social interactions at work.

7. Appreciate Others
Everyone, from your boss to the intern, wants to feel that their work is appreciated. So,
genuinely compliment the people around you when they do something well. Praise and
recognition will open the door to great work relationships.

8. Be Positive
Focus on being positive. Positivity is contagious and people gravitate to those that make
them feel good.

9. Avoid Gossiping
Office politics and gossip can ruin workplace relationships. If you're experiencing conflict
with someone in your group, talk to them directly about the problem. Gossiping with other
colleagues will only exacerbate the situation, accelerating mistrust and animosity.

MOVIES UNDERTAKEN

1. BAND BAAJA BAARAAT

2. BAAHUBALI 2

3. BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN
CLIP FIRST AND DESCRIPTION

This clip is from the movie, Band Baaja Baaraat and it tells us the story of two fresh
graduates who are strangers but take a leap of faith to start a wedding planning business with
the help of team management.

This clip is from the movie Band Baaja Baaraat, Shruti reflects really good business ethics,
constant drive, understanding of her clients, and a sense of good special design for the
wedding ceremonies and decor. She was driven, focused, and unfazed by anything that had
nothing to do with her business.

In this shruti and bittu have a clear understanding of placing the preferences of their clients
above all and henceforth maintaining good relationships with their client base and placing
satisfaction above all, thus building and maintaining good Customer relationship
management.
CLIP SECOND AND DESCRIPTION

This clip is from the movie Baahubali, Both Bhallal and Baahubali used human resources.
They were treated like slaves by Bhallal, and resources did not appreciate the labour that was
assigned to them. Baahubali, however, sets an example for them. He was always interested in
learning about the difficulties they had on a daily basis as we can see this in the
corresponding clip.

He would also provide assistance in resolving those issues (Even if they were personal). It is
understandable why people swore allegiance to him. The value that the leader is creating as a
result of the resource's engagement is more important than merely the resource itself. The
leader should interact with the followers as well. More on how approachable and reliable the
leader is.
CLIP THIRD AND DESCRIPTION

This video is an excerpt from the film Bajrangi Bhaijaan. It emphasizes the need of having
faith in other people to be helpful. Bajrangi is supported in his valiant attempt to reunite
Munni with her family by the news reporter Chand Nawab (acted superbly by Nawazuddin
Siddiqi), whom he meets along the road.

It's crucial to establish strong relationships with our loved ones and learn to put our trust in
them as we embark on our own entrepreneurial journeys. It's important to acknowledge that,
despite our best efforts, we can't always do things on our own.
VIEW BY THE GROUP

Building strong relationships is a crucial daily effort since social networking through
relationships and communication is the most efficient approach for people to succeed in the
workplace. As a manager, you may create an environment where your subordinates are
motivated to work and put out the effort necessary to succeed by developing strong
relationships with them.

A business relationship is the rather complex multidisciplinary process of developing

contacts among people in the working sphere. People’s communication is the obligatory
matter in the process of business relations, as from the correct communication, from the
ability to arrange the person in your favor the result of the common affair depends.

Effective communication is the foundation for creating lasting relationships. Your goals and
the ways to get there are communicated effectively to everyone of your peers, superiors, and
subordinates.
