Introduction:
Today, it is necessary for students, researchers, job-seekers and
manage to know how to developed and make a Presentation on a specific
subject to a select audience. For instance, students may be required to deliver
a Presentation to gain admission to a postgraduate program, to defend their
research findings before examiner, to be shortlisted for a job opening or to
advocate a proposal.

1 -What is Presentation?
“A Presentation is a model of sharing information with a select audience.”

2 - Style of Presentation
A good Presentation has the following characteristics:
 There is a clear structure with an introduction, discussion and Conclusion.
 Facts and figures are visual representation in tables, graph and charts.
 The presenter recognize and matches the audience`s needs, interests and level of
understanding.
3 - Professional Presentation
A presentation is not a lecture. Classroom lectures have well-defined
educational objectives. Effective lectures generally encourage students to
ask questions.
A presentation has a well-defined format. It is only when the presenter
completes his or her part that the audience is invited to ask questions or
seek clarifications.

4-Major elements of Presentation


Presentations have three major elements:
i. The presenter
ii. The Audience
iii. The specific content and definite objective to be achieved

5-Kinds of presentation
There are four kinds of presentation
i. Informative (use to inform your audience)
ii. Instructional (to instruct to teach your audience)
iii. Arousing (use to arouse interest among audience on the topic)
iv. Persuasive (use to make listener accept and agree you proposal)

6-Steps to prepare a Presentation


A presenter should undertake the following steps to prepare for the presentation:
i. Identify the purpose and goal of the presentation
ii. Analyze the audience and their needs
iii. Collate the relevant information
iv. Design and organize the information
v. Time the presentation
vi. Decide on the medium of presentation and visual aids
vii. Become familiar with the location of the presentation

7-Tips for effective Presentation


 Be clear with your purpose.
 Know your audience.
 Keep enough time for preparation.
 Organize and make an outline with the main points and sub-points.
 Structure your presentation into parts: beginning, middle and end.
 Listen to questions carefully and answer them completely.

8-Mediums of Presentation

9-Modes of Presentation
There are four modes of presentation that can be used for making presentation:
1-Extemporaneous 2- Manuscript/Reading
3- Impromptu 4- Memorization
1-Extemporaneous
Extemporaneous presentation is by far the most popular and effective
method when carefully prepaid. Our presentation will sound quite spontaneous to the
audience, as after thorough presentation, we are speaking while thinking.
2- Manuscript/Reading
In manuscript presentation, material is written out and we are supposed to
read it out aloud verbatim. We are not supposed to memorize and then recollect it.
3- Impromptu
The Impromptu mode, as the word suggests, is what we use when use when
we have to deliver an informal speech without presentation.
4- Memorization
This method of presentation is very difficult for most of us. Probably only
a handful of us can actually memorize an entire speech.

10. Conclusion
At the end we can say that presentation should be effective and interesting for audience.
It’s must be informative. A presenter should use library sources and visual aids for
presentation. Audience appreciate the movements when it is meaningful and supportive
of the messages. Audience respond best to presenters whose bodies are alive and
energetic. Audience appreciate movement when it is meaningful and supportive of
personal investment in the message.
